Wallabag integration

Wallabag is a self-hosted read-it-later service: it fetches a web page, strips it down to the readable article and keeps it for later. The API lets an agent save a URL as an entry (or push its own title and HTML instead of letting wallabag fetch), list and search entries with filters on archived, starred, public, tag, domain and update time, read one entry, edit its title, content, tags, language, authors and reading state, refetch it, delete it, save or delete many URLs in one call, check whether a URL is already saved, export an entry as epub, mobi, pdf, csv, json, txt or xml, read, add, update and remove the highlights and notes attached to an entry, manage tags one by one, by label or in bulk across every entry, read the account configuration and the tagging rules, and read the running version and registration settings. The host is part of the credential because every install is its own deployment. Authentication is a wallabag OAuth2 access token, obtained from the install's token endpoint with an API client the user creates under Developer, and sent as a bearer token.

The workflow builds itself.

When this happens, do that in Wallabag.Built from the 28 Wallabag tools below, on the connection you add once.

What you can do with Wallabag

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Entrie, 5 operations

  • create_entryCreate entryPOSTCreate an entry.
  • delete_entryDelete entryDELETEDelete permanently an entry.
  • get_entryGet entryGETRetrieve a single entry.
  • list_entriesList entriesGETRetrieve all entries. It could be filtered by many options.
  • update_entryUpdate entryPATCHChange several properties of an entry.

Tag, 5 operations

  • add_tags_to_entryAdd tags to entryPOSTAdd one or more tags to an entry.

Use Wallabag from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex

Connect Wallabag in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its Wallabag operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

How to connect Wallabag

  1. Create your workspace

Sign up free. Nothing to install.

  2. Connect Wallabag once

Add your Wallabag connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.

  3. Describe the job in chat

The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
