Stirling PDF is a self-hosted PDF toolbox that processes documents entirely on the operator's own server. Through this API an agent can merge, split by pages, chapters, sections, size or blank-page detection, crop, rotate, scale, rearrange and remove pages, lay several pages out on one sheet, overlay one PDF on another and flatten forms, convert to and from PDF for images, Word, presentations, HTML, Markdown, plain text, XML, CSV, EPUB, vector formats, comic-book archives, e-books, EML messages, a URL or a video slideshow, produce PDF/A, run OCR, compress or decompress, repair, sanitise and remove embedded JavaScript, add or remove a password, watermark, stamp, page numbers, image or attachment, sign with a certificate and validate or remove an existing signature, redact manually or automatically, edit the table of contents and extract bookmarks, images, image scans or attachments, read basic information, page count, page dimensions, fonts, form fields, annotations, metadata and security settings, filter a document on whether it contains given text or an image or matches a page count, rotation, size or file size, run a saved pipeline, and follow an asynchronous job to its result. Every processing route takes the document as an uploaded file and answers with the produced file, which the workflow receives as a file reference. The host is part of the credential because every install is its own deployment. Authentication is an API key from the account settings page, sent in the X-API-KEY header.
