Integration

Rocket.Chat integration

Rocket.Chat REST API v1 for self-hosted instances: post and update messages, create and archive channels and private groups, invite and remove members, set topics and announcements, read channel history, manage users, and upload files to a room. Authentication uses a personal access token plus the user id, both sent as headers.

Ask it in chat

Say what should happen.
The workflow builds itself.

When this happens, do that in Rocket.Chat.Built from the 15 Rocket.Chat tools below, on the connection you add once.

Common Rocket.Chat use cases

  • resolving a channel id from its name
  • messaging an on-call engineer privately
  • summarising a channel over the last day
  • posting a generated report into a channel
  • alerting a team channel when a deploy fails
  • auditing accounts on a self-hosted instance
  • spinning up an incident channel automatically
  • checking a user is active before inviting them
  • opening a private war room for a security incident
  • retracting an alert that fired on a false positive

What you can do with Rocket.Chat

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Use Rocket.Chat from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex

Connect Rocket.Chat in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its Rocket.Chat operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

How to connect Rocket.Chat

  1. Create your workspace

Sign up free. Nothing to install.

  2. Connect Rocket.Chat once

Add your Rocket.Chat connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.

  3. Describe the job in chat

The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
