Philips Hue integration
Philips Hue CLIP v2 API reached through the REMOTE Hue cloud gateway at api.meethue.com/route: list and control individual lights, control whole rooms and zones through their grouped light, create rooms and scenes, recall a scene, and read the motion and temperature sensors built into Hue devices. This is the remote API on purpose. A Hue bridge always sits on a private LAN address (10.x, 172.16-31.x, 192.168.x or a link-local address), and every outbound call made by this platform is checked against an SSRF guard that refuses private, loopback and link-local hosts, so a direct call to a local bridge can never leave the platform. Authentication is OAuth2 authorization code against the Hue developer portal, and every call also carries the bridge application key in the hue-application-key header.
Say what should happen.
The workflow builds itself.
Common Philips Hue use cases
- cleaning up a room created by mistake
- setting up a room after installing new bulbs
- applying an evening lighting scene on a schedule
- discovering light identifiers before switching them
- finding the grouped light that switches an entire room
- turning a light on at a set brightness from a workflow
- moving a bulb to a different room after it was relocated
- resolving the grouped light identifier of a specific room
- checking whether a specific light is on before changing it
- inspecting which lights a scene affects before recalling it
What you can do with Philips Hue
Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.
Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.
Room, 5 operations
create_roomCreate roomPOSTCreates a Hue room and assigns devices to it.delete_roomDelete roomDELETEDeletes a Hue room without removing its lights from the bridge.get_roomGet roomGETReturns one Hue room with its member devices and services.list_roomsList roomsGETLists the Hue rooms with their member devices and grouped light.update_roomUpdate roomPUTRenames a Hue room or changes the devices assigned to it.
Scene, 4 operations
create_sceneCreate scenePOSTCreates a Hue scene storing per light settings for a room or zone.get_sceneGet sceneGETReturns one Hue scene with its per light actions.list_scenesList scenesGETLists the Hue scenes with the room or zone each belongs to.recall_sceneRecall scenePUTActivates a Hue scene so its stored settings are applied to its lights.

Grouped light, 2 operations
list_grouped_lightsList grouped lightsGETLists the Hue grouped lights that control a whole room or zone at once.update_grouped_lightUpdate grouped lightPUTSwitches or dims every Hue light of a room or zone in one call.
Bridge, 1 operation
get_bridgeGet bridgeGETReturns the Hue bridge identifier and time zone.
Device, 1 operation

Connect Philips Hue in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its Philips Hue operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

- Create your workspace
Sign up free. Nothing to install.
- Connect Philips Hue once
Add your Philips Hue connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.
- Describe the job in chat
The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
