Linode integration

Linode, part of Akamai, is a cloud infrastructure provider offering virtual machines, block storage, managed Kubernetes, load balancers and networking across its global regions. This integration covers the Linode API v4 control plane: Linode instances (create, boot, reboot, shut down, rescue, rebuild, resize, upgrade, migrate, clone), their configuration profiles, disks, backups and snapshots, attached firewalls, IP addresses, statistics and transfer, block storage volumes with attach, detach, clone and resize, custom images and image uploads, StackScripts, managed DNS domains and records with zone-file export, NodeBalancers with their configs and backend nodes, cloud firewalls with rules, devices and templates, IP address allocation, assignment and sharing, VPCs and subnets, LKE Kubernetes clusters, node pools and nodes with recycle actions, and the read-only catalogue of regions, region availability, Linode types, NodeBalancer types, kernels and LKE versions, plus account settings, invoices, transfer and events. Managed Databases, Object Storage, Managed services, Longview, monitoring, support tickets, profile and user administration, OAuth clients, payment methods, image share groups and placement groups are not included, and neither is the LKE kubeconfig download. Authentication is a Personal Access Token created in the Linode Cloud Manager, sent as a bearer token.

What you can do with Linode

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Use Linode from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex

Connect Linode in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its Linode operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

How to connect Linode

  1. Create your workspace

Sign up free. Nothing to install.

  2. Connect Linode once

Add your Linode connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.

  3. Describe the job in chat

The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
