Kibana integration
Kibana management API for a self-hosted or Elastic Cloud instance: search, read, create, update and delete saved objects such as dashboards and visualizations, export them as a transferable NDJSON file, manage data views (index patterns), create and delete spaces, and administer alerting rules. Point the credential at your own Kibana host and authenticate with an Elasticsearch API key, which Kibana accepts with the ApiKey scheme.
Say what should happen.
The workflow builds itself.
Common Kibana use cases
- renaming a dashboard
- validating a new Kibana credential
- backing up dashboards before an upgrade
- provisioning a data view for a newly created index
- provisioning a standard dashboard into a new space
- giving a new team its own isolated set of dashboards
- inspecting why an alerting rule is in the error state
- tearing down the space created for a finished project
- cleaning up dashboards generated by an automated test run
- finding the identifier of a dashboard before exporting it
What you can do with Kibana
Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.
Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.
Saved object, 6 operations
create_saved_objectCreate saved objectPOSTCreates a Kibana saved object such as a dashboard, visualization or index pattern.delete_saved_objectDelete saved objectDELETEDeletes a Kibana saved object permanently.export_saved_objectsExport saved objectsPOSTExports Kibana saved objects to an NDJSON file stored as a downloadable file.find_saved_objectsFind saved objectsGETSearches Kibana saved objects by type, free text and KQL filter.get_saved_objectGet saved objectGETRetrieves one Kibana saved object with its attributes and references.update_saved_objectUpdate saved objectPUTUpdates the attributes or references of an existing Kibana saved object.
Data view, 5 operations
create_data_viewCreate data viewPOSTCreates a Kibana data view for an index pattern.delete_data_viewDelete data viewDELETEDeletes a Kibana data view without touching the indices behind it.get_data_viewGet data viewGETRetrieves a single Kibana data view including its fields and time field.list_data_viewsList data viewsGETLists the Kibana data views of the current space.update_data_viewUpdate data viewPOSTUpdates the title, name, time field or runtime fields of a Kibana data view.
Alerting rule, 4 operations
create_alerting_ruleCreate alerting rulePOSTCreates a Kibana alerting rule that checks data on a schedule and runs connectors.delete_alerting_ruleDelete alerting ruleDELETEDeletes a Kibana alerting rule and stops its schedule.find_alerting_rulesFind alerting rulesGETSearches Kibana alerting rules and reports their last execution status.get_alerting_ruleGet alerting ruleGETRetrieves a single Kibana alerting rule with its parameters and actions.
Space, 3 operations
create_spaceCreate spacePOSTCreates a new Kibana space with its own set of saved objects.delete_spaceDelete spaceDELETEDeletes a Kibana space together with all of its saved objects.list_spacesList spacesGETLists the Kibana spaces the credential can access.
Status, 1 operation
get_statusGet statusGETRetrieves the Kibana instance status, version and per-plugin health.
Use Kibana from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex
Connect Kibana in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its Kibana operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.
claude mcp add --transport http livecontext https://livecontext.ai/mcp --header "X-API-Key: YOUR_API_KEY"[mcp_servers.livecontext]

}How to connect Kibana
- Create your workspace
Sign up free. Nothing to install.
- Connect Kibana once
Add your Kibana connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.
- Describe the job in chat
The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
