Google Forms integration

Google Forms API for creating and managing forms, surveys, and quizzes. Create forms programmatically, add questions, retrieve responses, and set up push notifications. Supports multiple question types, quiz grading, and response analytics. Ideal for survey automation, feedback collection, and data gathering workflows.

Common Google Forms use cases

  • subscription management
  • form inspection
  • form publishing
  • survey creation
  • adding questions
  • response analysis
  • response inspection
  • cleanup subscriptions
  • real-time notifications
  • subscription maintenance

What you can do with Google Forms

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Form, 4 operations

  • POSTbatch_update

    Batch updates a form: add questions, modify settings, reorder items, or delete content.

  • POSTcreate_form

    Creates a new Google Form with a title. Use batch_update to add questions after creation.

  • GETget_form

    Retrieves complete form structure including questions, sections, and settings.

  • POSTset_publish_settings

    Updates form publish settings to control visibility and response acceptance.

Watch, 4 operations

  • POSTcreate_watch

    Creates a push notification watch for form schema changes or new responses.

  • DELETEdelete_watch

    Deletes a watch to stop receiving push notifications for a form.

  • GETlist_watches

    Lists all active watches (push notification subscriptions) on a form owned by the invoking project.

  • POSTrenew_watch

    Renews an existing watch subscription for another 7 days.

Form response, 2 operations

  • GETget_response

    Retrieves a specific form response with complete answer details.

  • GETlist_responses

    Lists all form responses with optional timestamp filtering and pagination.

OAuth scopes Google Forms requires

Each operation declares the scopes Google Forms requires for it.

  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/forms.bodyneeded by batch_update, create_form, create_watch and 3 more
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/forms.body.readonlyneeded by get_form, list_watches
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/forms.responses.readonlyneeded by get_response, list_responses

Google Forms API rate limits

  • 10 requests per second
  • 1,000,000 requests per day

Standard Google API quotas apply. See Google Cloud Console for specific limits.

These are the limits Google Forms documents, not ones LiveContext measured. They can change and often depend on your plan, so check the Google Forms documentation for current values.

Use Google Forms from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex

Connect Google Forms in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its Google Forms operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http livecontext https://livecontext.ai/mcp --header "X-API-Key: YOUR_API_KEY"
Codex (~/.codex/config.toml)
[mcp_servers.livecontext]
url = "https://livecontext.ai/mcp"

[mcp_servers.livecontext.http_headers]
"X-API-Key" = "YOUR_API_KEY"
Cursor, Claude Desktop and other JSON configs
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "livecontext": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://livecontext.ai/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "X-API-Key": "YOUR_API_KEY"
      }
    }
  }
}

How to connect Google Forms

  1. Create your workspace

    Sign up free. Nothing to install.

  2. Connect Google Forms once

    Add your Google Forms connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.

  3. Describe the job in chat

    The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
