Gitpod integration

Gitpod runs standardised, ephemeral development environments on runners you host or on Gitpod's own infrastructure. Create, start, stop, archive and delete environments and the projects they are created from, drive the automation services and tasks declared in an environment's automations file and read their executions, start and follow AI agent runs and the prompts they use, run and cancel workflows and read their executions, outputs and actions, manage prebuilds and warm pools, register and configure runners with their environment classes, source-control integrations and host authentication tokens, administer the organisation (members, roles, groups, invites, custom domains, domain verification, policies, SSO and SCIM), store environment secrets, read audit logs, and pull credit, adoption and AI usage reporting. Every call is a POST to the RPC endpoint named in its path and takes its arguments as a JSON body. Authentication is a Gitpod personal access token or service account token sent as a bearer token in the Authorization header.

What you can do with Gitpod

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Use Gitpod from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex

Connect Gitpod in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its Gitpod operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

Set up the MCP server step by step

How to connect Gitpod

  1. Create your workspace

Sign up free. Nothing to install.

  2. Connect Gitpod once

Add your Gitpod connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.

  3. Describe the job in chat

The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
