GitHub Actions integration

GitHub Actions REST API for managing CI/CD workflows, runs, jobs, artifacts, and secrets. Trigger workflows, monitor run status, download artifacts, manage repository secrets, and control self-hosted runners.

Ask it in chat

Say what should happen.
The workflow builds itself.

When this happens, do that in GitHub Actions.Built from the 59 GitHub Actions tools below, on the connection you add once.

Common GitHub Actions use cases

  • freeing storage
  • rotating credentials
  • automate workflow management
  • automate workflow run management
  • capacity planning
  • cleanup automation
  • setting API keys
  • security auditing
  • custom CI/CD gates
  • compliance auditing

What you can do with GitHub Actions

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Workflow run, 9 operations

  • delete_workflow_runDelete workflow runDELETEDeletes a specific workflow run by ID. Removes the run, its logs, and associated check suites.
  • force_cancel_workflow_runForce cancel workflow runPOSTForce-cancels a workflow run, bypassing conditions that would normally prevent cancellation (e.g., concurrency groups, post-job tasks).
  • get_workflow_runGet workflow runGETGets detailed information about a specific workflow run including status, conclusion, timing, and triggering commit.
  • get_workflow_run_attemptGet workflow run attemptGETGets a specific attempt of a workflow run including its status, conclusion, and timing for that attempt only.

Secret, 5 operations

  • create_or_update_repo_secretCreate or update repo secretPUTCreates or updates a repository secret. The value must be encrypted with the repository's public key before sending.

Use GitHub Actions from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex

Connect GitHub Actions in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its GitHub Actions operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

How to connect GitHub Actions

  1. Create your workspace

Sign up free. Nothing to install.

  2. Connect GitHub Actions once

Add your GitHub Actions connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.

  3. Describe the job in chat

The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
