Formance Ledger integration

Formance Ledger is an open-source, self-hosted programmable financial ledger for modelling money movement. Create and list ledgers with their metadata and storage bucket, post and list double-entry transactions written in Numscript, read one transaction, revert it, and set or delete transaction metadata; list accounts, read one by address and manage its metadata; read aggregated balances, per-account and per-asset volumes with balances, and ledger statistics; group many writes into a single bulk request; list, export and import the ledger's append-only log; manage ledger schemas by version and run stored query templates; and administer buckets and the exporters and pipelines that stream ledger activity to external systems. Only the v2 API is exposed; the deprecated unversioned routes of the same document are not. The host is part of the credential because every install is its own deployment. Authentication is a bearer access token, issued by Formance's authentication service through the client-credentials grant or by whatever gateway fronts a self-hosted deployment.

What you can do with Formance Ledger

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Use Formance Ledger from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex

Connect Formance Ledger in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its Formance Ledger operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

How to connect Formance Ledger

  1. Create your workspace

Sign up free. Nothing to install.

  2. Connect Formance Ledger once

Add your Formance Ledger connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.

  3. Describe the job in chat

The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
