What you can do with Fivetran

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Connector, 6 operations

  • POSTcreate_connector

Create a new connector to start syncing data from a source service into a destination. The connector is created and optionally starts syncing based on the paused flag.

  • DELETEdelete_connector

Permanently delete a connector and stop all future syncs. This action is irreversible and removes all connector metadata.

  • GETget_connector

Retrieve full details of a specific connector including its configuration, sync status, schedule, and schema metadata.

  • GETlist_connectors

List all connectors in the account with pagination support. Returns connector metadata including service type, status, sync frequency, and last sync timestamp.

  • PATCHmodify_connector

Update configuration, schedule, or sync settings for an existing connector. Only provided fields are updated; all others remain unchanged.

  • POSTsync_connector

Trigger an on-demand sync for a connector outside of its scheduled frequency. Optionally force a full re-sync of all historical data.

Destination, 6 operations

  • POSTcreate_destination

Create and configure a new destination warehouse where connector data will be loaded. The destination is associated with a group.

  • DELETEdelete_destination

Permanently delete a destination configuration. Associated connectors must be deleted first before the destination can be removed.

  • GETget_destination

Retrieve full configuration details of a specific destination including warehouse type, region, connection settings, and setup status.

  • GETlist_destinations

List all destinations (data warehouses) configured in the account with pagination support.

  • PATCHmodify_destination

Update region, time zone, or connection configuration for an existing destination. Only provided fields are changed.

  • POSTtest_destination

Run a connection test against a destination warehouse to verify that Fivetran can successfully connect using the configured credentials.

Group, 5 operations

  • POSTcreate_group

Create a new group to organize connectors that share the same destination warehouse. The group name must be unique within the account.

  • DELETEdelete_group

Permanently delete a group and all its associated connectors and destination configuration. This action is irreversible.

  • GETget_group

Retrieve details of a specific group including its name, creation timestamp, and associated destination service.

  • GETlist_groups

List all groups in the account. A group represents a logical grouping of connectors sharing the same destination warehouse.

  • PATCHupdate_group

Update the display name of an existing group.

User, 3 operations

  • POSTadd_user_to_group

Grant a user access to a specific group with a defined role. The user must already exist in the account.

  • GETget_user

Retrieve profile details and account role for a specific user.

  • GETlist_users

List all users in the Fivetran account with pagination support. Returns user profile information, roles, and account status.

Connector schema, 2 operations

  • GETget_connector_schema

Retrieve the current schema configuration for a connector, including all synced schemas, tables, and columns with their enabled/disabled status.

  • PATCHmodify_connector_schema

Update schema settings for a connector including enabling/disabling schemas, tables, columns, and configuring schema change handling behavior.

Connector source metadata, 1 operation

  • GETget_connector_source_metadata

Get source metadata for a connector including available schemas and tables. Returns the metadata structure that the connector exposes.

Group connector, 1 operation

  • GETlist_group_connectors

List all connectors belonging to a specific group, with optional filtering by schema name or service type.

Group user, 1 operation

  • GETlist_group_users

List all users who have access to a specific group, including their roles and permissions within the group.

Invite user, 1 operation

  • POSTinvite_user

Invite a new user to the Fivetran account by email. The user will receive an invitation to set up their account and be assigned the specified role.

Resync connector table, 1 operation

  • POSTresync_connector_tables

Trigger a historical resync for specific tables within a connector. Useful for refreshing stale or corrupted table data without resyncing the entire connector.

Use Fivetran from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex

Connect Fivetran in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its Fivetran operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

How to connect Fivetran

  1. Create your workspace

Sign up free. Nothing to install.

  2. Connect Fivetran once

Add your Fivetran connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.

  3. Describe the job in chat

The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
