Etherscan integration

Etherscan is the leading blockchain explorer, search, API, and analytics platform for Ethereum and EVM-compatible chains. The V2 API unifies 60+ chains (Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, Avalanche, Linea, Scroll, Blast, etc.) under a single account and API key. Every endpoint takes a chainid query param so the same call works across networks. Provides on-chain data such as native and ERC-20/721/1155 balances, normal/internal/token transactions, smart contract ABIs and source code, transaction status, block rewards and countdowns, event logs with topic filtering, gas oracle and gas estimates, and Ether supply/price stats.

What you can do with Etherscan

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Balance, 2 operations

  • GETget_native_balance

Gets the native token balance (ETH, BNB, MATIC, etc.) of an EVM address on any of the 60+ chains supported by Etherscan V2.

  • GETget_native_balance_multi

Gets the native token balance of up to 20 addresses in a single Etherscan call.

Internal transaction, 2 operations

  • GETlist_internal_transactions

Lists internal contract-to-contract calls (traces) involving an EVM address.

  • GETlist_internal_transactions_by_hash

Lists internal calls performed by a specific transaction (looked up by tx hash).

Block, 1 operation

  • GETget_block_by_timestamp

Finds the block number closest to a given Unix timestamp.

Block countdown, 1 operation

  • GETget_block_countdown

Estimates the time remaining until a future block number is reached.

Block reward, 1 operation

  • GETget_block_reward

Returns the miner/validator reward and uncle rewards for a given block.

Contract abi, 1 operation

  • GETget_contract_abi

Fetches the verified ABI JSON of a smart contract by address.

Contract creation, 1 operation

  • GETget_contract_creation

Returns the deployer, creation tx, block, and timestamp of up to 5 smart contracts.

Contract source, 1 operation

  • GETget_contract_source_code

Fetches the verified source code, ABI, and compiler metadata of a smart contract.

Erc20 balance, 1 operation

  • GETget_erc20_token_balance

Gets the ERC-20 token balance of an address for a specific token contract.

Erc20 supply, 1 operation

  • GETget_token_supply

Gets the current total supply of an ERC-20 token (raw units).

Erc20 transfer, 1 operation

  • GETlist_erc20_transfers

Lists ERC-20 Transfer events involving an address, optionally filtered by token contract.

Erc721 transfer, 1 operation

  • GETlist_erc721_transfers

Lists ERC-721 NFT Transfer events for an address, optionally scoped to one collection.

Eth price, 1 operation

  • GETget_eth_price

Returns the latest ETH/USD and ETH/BTC price quoted by Etherscan.

Eth supply, 1 operation

  • GETget_eth_supply

Returns the total Ether (or native token) supply on the chain in wei.

Event log, 1 operation

  • GETget_event_logs

Lists event logs filtered by contract address, block range, and up to four indexed topics with boolean operators.

Gas estimate, 1 operation

  • GETget_gas_estimate

Estimates how long a transaction at a given gas price will take to confirm.

Gas oracle, 1 operation

  • GETget_gas_oracle

Returns current gas price recommendations (safe / propose / fast) and EIP-1559 base fee.

Token info, 1 operation

  • GETget_token_info

Returns metadata, social links, and USD price for an ERC-20/721/1155 token. PRO endpoint.

Transaction, 1 operation

  • GETlist_normal_transactions

Lists normal (externally-signed) transactions for an EVM address with block range and pagination.

Transaction receipt, 1 operation

  • GETget_transaction_receipt_status

Returns the receipt status flag (success/fail) of a transaction.

Transaction status, 1 operation

  • GETget_transaction_status

Reports the EVM execution status (success / revert reason) of a transaction.

Use Etherscan from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex

Connect Etherscan in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its Etherscan operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

How to connect Etherscan

  1. Create your workspace

Sign up free. Nothing to install.

  2. Connect Etherscan once

Add your Etherscan connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.

  3. Describe the job in chat

The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
