Disqus integration

Disqus API 3.0 for hosted comment threads: list and read comments, publish a comment, approve, mark as spam or remove a comment, list and create threads, read forum details and browse a forum comment or thread feed, and look up users and their comment history. The public key travels as the api_key query parameter and is added automatically from the connected credential. The OAuth access token needed by every write and moderation call is NOT added automatically: create_post, approve_post, mark_post_as_spam, remove_post and create_thread each declare an explicit required access_token parameter that must be supplied on the call.

What you can do with Disqus

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Post, 8 operations

  • POSTapprove_post

Publishes comments that are waiting in the moderation queue.

  • POSTcreate_post

Posts a comment, either as the authenticated account or as a named guest.

  • GETget_post

Reads one comment by its identifier.

  • GETlist_forum_posts

Returns every comment posted on a single forum.

  • GETlist_posts

  • GETlist_forum_threads

Use Disqus from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex

Connect Disqus in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its Disqus operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

How to connect Disqus

  1. Create your workspace

Sign up free. Nothing to install.

  2. Connect Disqus once

Add your Disqus connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.

  3. Describe the job in chat

The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
