Checkmk integration

Checkmk is a self-hosted IT infrastructure monitoring system for hosts, services, networks and applications. Read the monitoring state of hosts and services with Livestatus-backed filters, create, update, rename, move and delete host configurations one at a time or in bulk, build cluster hosts, organise everything into folders, host groups, service groups and contact groups, run and follow service discovery for a host or for many hosts at once and accept or reject discovered services, activate pending configuration changes and wait for the activation to finish, schedule and modify host and service downtimes, acknowledge and un-acknowledge problems, attach and delete comments, read and act on Event Console events, manage rules and browse rulesets, manage host tag groups and auxiliary tags, time periods, users, user roles, stored passwords, notification rules, LDAP connections and remote site connections, read the audit log and archive it, fetch metric time series, and poll a background job. The host, the site name and the credential all belong to one install. Authentication is the Checkmk header format: the Authorization header carries the automation user name, a space, then its secret, so paste 'automation SECRET' as the token value and the platform sends 'Authorization: Bearer automation SECRET'.

What you can do with Checkmk

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Use Checkmk from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex

Connect Checkmk in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its Checkmk operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

How to connect Checkmk

  1. Create your workspace

Sign up free. Nothing to install.

  2. Connect Checkmk once

Add your Checkmk connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.

  3. Describe the job in chat

The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
