Azure Blob Storage integration
Microsoft Azure Blob Storage API for scalable cloud object storage. Store and retrieve files, manage containers, upload large files with block operations, and configure access policies. Supports three blob types (Block, Page, Append), versioning, lifecycle management, and integration with Azure services. Perfect for file storage, backups, content delivery, and data archiving. Requests authenticate with a SAS token whose `sv` parameter also selects the service version; no x-ms-version header is required in this mode.
Say what should happen.
The workflow builds itself.
Common Azure Blob Storage use cases
- Reading custom metadata tags on a container
- Checking container existence and current state
- Cleaning up temporary files and expired content
- Creating backups before modifying important blobs
- Setting correct MIME types for web-served content
- Monitoring upload progress for large chunked uploads
- Verifying blob existence before initiating downloads
- Preventing concurrent modifications to critical blobs
- Uploading large files in chunks for reliable transfer
- Auditing container permissions for security compliance
What you can do with Azure Blob Storage
Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.
Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Azure Blob Storage API rate limits
- 20,000 requests per second
Azure Storage account-level scalability targets - these are throughput/IOPS guidelines, not hard quotas. Per-blob: 3000 req/s for a single block blob, 500 req/s for a single page blob. Per-account ingress/egress varies by region/redundancy (typically 60-200 Gbps egress, 25-50 Gbps ingress). Service throttles with 503 Server Busy when exceeded - implement exponential backoff. See https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/storage/blobs/scalability-targets
These are the limits Azure Blob Storage documents, not ones LiveContext measured. They can change and often depend on your plan, so check the Azure Blob Storage documentation for current values.
Use Azure Blob Storage from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex
Connect Azure Blob Storage in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its Azure Blob Storage operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.
claude mcp add --transport http livecontext https://livecontext.ai/mcp --header "X-API-Key: YOUR_API_KEY"[mcp_servers.livecontext]

}How to connect Azure Blob Storage
- Create your workspace
Sign up free. Nothing to install.
- Connect Azure Blob Storage once
Add your Azure Blob Storage connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.
- Describe the job in chat
The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
