AWS Route 53 integration
Amazon Route 53 DNS and domain management API. Create and manage hosted zones, DNS records, health checks, and domain registrations. Configure routing policies, failover, and traffic management for high-availability infrastructure.
Say what should happen.
The workflow builds itself.

- get change programmatically
- get dnssec programmatically
- get hosted zone programmatically
What you can do with AWS Route 53
Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.
Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.
Hosted zone, 6 operations
create_hosted_zoneCreate hosted zonePOSTCreate a new hosted zone for a domain. Route 53 automatically creates NS and SOA records. Returns the zone ID, name servers, and change info.delete_hosted_zoneDelete hosted zoneDELETEDelete a hosted zone. The zone must not contain any non-default resource record sets (only NS and SOA).get_hosted_zoneGet hosted zoneGETRetrieve details about a specific hosted zone including its name servers, record count, and configuration.list_hosted_zonesList hosted zonesGETList all hosted zones owned by the current AWS account. Returns zone IDs, names, record counts, and configuration details.list_hosted_zones_by_nameList hosted zones by nameGETList hosted zones owned by the AWS account, ordered alphabetically by domain name. Supports pagination via dnsname/hostedzoneid.list_hosted_zones_by_vpcList hosted zones by vpcGETList private hosted zones associated with a specific VPC.
Health check, 5 operations
create_health_checkCreate health checkPOSTCreate a new health check that monitors an endpoint, other health checks, or a CloudWatch alarm. Used for DNS failover routing.delete_health_checkDelete health checkDELETEDelete a health check. Ensure no resource record sets reference this health check before deleting.get_health_checkGet health checkGETRetrieve configuration and details for a specific health check including endpoint, thresholds, and check interval.list_health_checksList health checksGETList all health checks associated with the current AWS account. Returns health check IDs, configurations, and status.update_health_checkUpdate health checkPOSTUpdate the configuration of an existing health check. Modify endpoint, thresholds, regions, or notification settings.
Query logging config, 3 operations
create_query_logging_configCreate query logging configPOSTCreate a DNS query logging configuration to send query logs to a CloudWatch Logs log group. The log group must be in us-east-1.delete_query_logging_configDelete query logging configDELETEDelete a DNS query logging configuration. Stops logging DNS queries for the associated hosted zone.list_query_logging_configsList query logging configsGETList DNS query logging configurations. Optionally filter by hosted zone ID.
Geo location, 2 operations
get_geo_locationGet geo locationGETGet details for a specific supported geo location by continent, country, and/or subdivision code.list_geo_locationsList geo locationsGETList supported geo locations that can be used in geolocation routing policies.
Hosted zone dnssec, 2 operations
disable_hosted_zone_dnssecDisable hosted zone dnssecPOSTDisable DNSSEC signing for a hosted zone.enable_hosted_zone_dnssecEnable hosted zone dnssecPOSTEnable DNSSEC signing for a hosted zone. A KSK must already exist.
Change, 1 operation
get_changeGet changeGETGet the current status of a change batch request. Returns PENDING while propagating or INSYNC when complete.
Change resource record set, 1 operation

Dns answer, 1 operation
test_dns_answerTest dns answerGETSimulate a DNS query to see what Route 53 would respond with for a specific record name and type in a hosted zone.
Dnssec, 1 operation
get_dnssecGet dnssecGETGet DNSSEC signing information for a hosted zone, including key-signing keys (KSKs) and their status.
Health check failure reason, 1 operation
get_health_check_last_failure_reasonGet health check last failure reasonGETGet the reason that a health check most recently failed, from all Route 53 health checker regions.
Health check status, 1 operation
get_health_check_statusGet health check statusGETGet the current status of a health check from all Route 53 health checker regions. Shows whether each region considers the endpoint healthy.
Hosted zone comment, 1 operation
update_hosted_zone_commentUpdate hosted zone commentPOSTUpdate the comment field of a hosted zone.
Hosted zone count, 1 operation

Use AWS Route 53 from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex
Connect AWS Route 53 in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its AWS Route 53 operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.
claude mcp add --transport http livecontext https://livecontext.ai/mcp --header "X-API-Key: YOUR_API_KEY"[mcp_servers.livecontext]
url = "https://livecontext.ai/mcp"
[mcp_servers.livecontext.http_headers]
"X-API-Key" = "YOUR_API_KEY"{
"mcpServers": {
"livecontext": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://livecontext.ai/mcp",
"headers": {
"X-API-Key": "YOUR_API_KEY"
}
}
}
}How to connect AWS Route 53
- Create your workspace
Sign up free. Nothing to install.
- Connect AWS Route 53 once
Add your AWS Route 53 connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.
- Describe the job in chat
The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
