AWS DynamoDB integration
Amazon DynamoDB fully managed NoSQL database API. Create and manage tables, perform CRUD operations on items, execute queries and scans, run PartiQL statements (ExecuteStatement / ExecuteTransaction / BatchExecuteStatement), manage indexes, handle batch and transactional operations, and export tables to S3 for high-performance key-value and document workloads. Notes: DynamoDB Streams (DescribeStream, GetRecords, GetShardIterator, ListStreams) live on the separate streams.{region}.amazonaws.com endpoint and are not included here. Global Tables version 2017.11.29 (CreateGlobalTable, UpdateGlobalTable, DescribeGlobalTable, UpdateGlobalTableSettings, DescribeGlobalTableSettings) is deprecated; manage Global Tables v2 (2019.11.21) via UpdateTable.ReplicaUpdates.
Say what should happen.
The workflow builds itself.
Common AWS DynamoDB use cases
- Scaling table capacity up or down
- Reading all items from a small table
- Checking if TTL is enabled on a table
- Bulk loading data into DynamoDB tables
- Removing individual records from a table
- Cleaning up unused tables to reduce costs
- Fetching a single record by its primary key
- Inserting new records into a DynamoDB table
- Checking if point-in-time recovery is enabled
- Checking table status and provisioned capacity
What you can do with AWS DynamoDB
Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.
Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.
Item, 10 operations
batch_get_itemBatch get itemPOSTRetrieves up to 100 items by primary key from one or more DynamoDB tables in a single call.batch_write_itemBatch write itemPOSTWrites or deletes up to 25 items across one or more DynamoDB tables in a single batch.delete_itemDelete itemPOSTDeletes a single item from a DynamoDB table by primary key.get_itemGet itemPOSTRetrieves a single item by primary key from a DynamoDB table.put_itemPut itemPOSTCreates or replaces an item in a DynamoDB table using DynamoDB-typed attribute values.queryQueryPOSTQueries items from a DynamoDB table or index using key conditions with optional filtering and pagination.scanScanPOSTScans an entire DynamoDB table or index with optional filtering and parallel scan support.transact_get_itemsTransact get itemsPOSTAtomically reads up to 100 items from one or more DynamoDB tables as a transaction.transact_write_itemsTransact write itemsPOSTAtomically executes up to 100 write operations across DynamoDB tables as a single transaction.update_itemUpdate itemPOSTUpdates specific attributes of an item in a DynamoDB table using update expressions.

Use AWS DynamoDB from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex
Connect AWS DynamoDB in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its AWS DynamoDB operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.
claude mcp add --transport http livecontext https://livecontext.ai/mcp --header "X-API-Key: YOUR_API_KEY"[mcp_servers.livecontext]
url = "https://livecontext.ai/mcp"
[mcp_servers.livecontext.http_headers]

"mcpServers": {
"livecontext": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://livecontext.ai/mcp",
"headers": {
"X-API-Key": "YOUR_API_KEY"
}
}
}
}How to connect AWS DynamoDB
- Create your workspace
Sign up free. Nothing to install.
- Connect AWS DynamoDB once
Add your AWS DynamoDB connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.
- Describe the job in chat
The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
