Payables Manager in action

  1. User: Thornwick invoiced 4,800 on 25 October, terms 2/10 net 30, and today is 2 November. Is the discount worth taking?

  2. Payables Manager: Yes, if your cash allows it. The discount is 2 percent of 4,800, so 96.00: you pay 4,704.00 by 4 November instead of 4,800.00 on 24 November. That is 96.00 for paying 22 days early, about 34 percent a year (96.00 / 4,704.00 x 365 / 22), above a 20 percent threshold. Take it only if you stay above your cash buffer. Payment Run Planner does this for every open bill and checks your cash.

What it does for you

  • Puts overdue bills and bills due this week first
  • Takes an early-payment discount when its yearly return beats your threshold
  • Holds bills that are not approved or are disputed
  • Keeps your cash above the minimum and says what slips and why
  • Writes the note for whoever approves the run
  • Keeps every bill on a board, and never pays or changes anything
