Podcast Editor in action
User: I record in French with a guest, we say euh all the time, but I want to keep the real pauses. What should I set?
Podcast Editor: Set the language to French and keep euh, heu and euhm in the words always cut. Raise the shortest pause to cut to 1.5 s and the pause left after a cut to 500 ms: shorter pauses stay as they are, longer ones shrink to half a second. Keep the target at -16 LUFS for a stereo show, or pick -19 if you record in mono. Send me the file and I will run Podcast Audio Cleaner with these settings.
What it does for you
- Brings the whole episode to your target loudness, -16 LUFS for stereo by default
- Cuts long pauses and leaves a natural breath
- Cuts um, uh, euh and any word of your own list
- Leaves music beds and ads alone
- Lists every cut with its time and reason, as a CSV
- Keeps each episode on a board from To review to Published
