Zoo integration

Zoo (formerly KittyCAD) is a CAD platform API. Convert CAD files between formats (STEP, STL, glTF, OBJ, FBX, PLY and more) and compute a part's mass, volume, density, surface area, center of mass or bounding box; follow long jobs with get_async_operation; manage your CAD projects, versions, libraries and share links; browse and vote on public community projects; read text-to-CAD parts, Zookeeper conversations and KCL code completions; convert engineering units; manage your org, members, datasets, custom ML models, privacy settings and shortlinks; read API call history, balances, invoices, payment methods and subscriptions. File conversion, file analysis and KCL completion are billed per use. Not exposed: sign-in, OAuth and SAML set-up, API token and service account management (they return secrets), creating or changing payment details or subscriptions, deleting your account, multipart project uploads and the websocket (engine, copilot) endpoints. Authentication is a Zoo API token sent as a Bearer token (create one in your Zoo account settings).

What you can do with Zoo

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Dataset, 5 operations

  • create_org_datasetCreate org datasetPOSTRegisters a storage location (an S3 bucket via an IAM role, or a Zoo-managed store) as an org dataset; Zoo then converts its CAD files to KCL. Apply get_dataset_s3_policies first for S3.

Shortlink, 5 operations
