Integration

WorkBoard integration

WorkBoard is a strategy execution and OKR platform. Read and manage users, teams, goals (objectives) and their metrics (key results), update a metric's progress or confidence score, tag metrics, and create, update or delete Workstreams and the action items in them. Many organization-wide reads and every user, goal and team administration route need a Data-Admin token; a personal token sees only what its owner can see. The datastream routes and the incoming metric webhook are not included (they authenticate with per-stream or per-app secrets, not the access token). Authentication is a WorkBoard access token sent as a Bearer token: an Instant Token from the WorkBoard developer page, or an OAuth 2.0 token of a registered WorkBoard app.

Ask it in chat

Say what should happen.
The workflow builds itself.

When this happens, do that in WorkBoard.Built from the 41 WorkBoard tools below, on the connection you add once.

What you can do with WorkBoard

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Tag, 7 operations

  • add_metric_tagsAdd metric tagsPUTAdds tags to one metric: tag_ids is an array of numerical tag ids (at most 50). Invalid ids are ignored.
  • get_tagGet tagGETReturns one key result tag.
  • list_metric_tagsList metric tagsGETLists the tags on one metric.
  • list_tagsList tagsGETLists the key result tags of the organization, filtered by id, status (1 active, 2 archived) or tag group. Page with limit and offset.
  • list_tags_of_metricsList tags of metricsGETLists the key result tags on several metrics: metric_ids is a comma-separated list of metric ids.
  • remove_metric_tagsRemove metric tagsDELETERemoves the given tags from one metric.
  • tag_metricsTag metricsPOSTAdds tags to several metrics at once: metrics is an array of objects with metric_id and tag_ids (at most 50 tags). Invalid tags are ignored.

Action item, 6 operations

  • create_action_itemCreate action itemPOSTCreates an action item (ai_description required) with optional owner, team, Workstream, due date, state, priority, rating, effort, tags and comments.
  • get_action_itemGet action itemGETReturns one action item.
  • list_action_itemsList action itemsGETLists action items (page with limit and offset, or next_page_token). Filter by owner, state, priority, due date range, effort, tags or a quick filter.
  • list_team_action_itemsList team action itemsGETLists all action items of a team.
  • list_workstream_action_itemsList workstream action itemsGETLists all action items of a Workstream the token user can access.
  • update_action_itemUpdate action itemPUTUpdates an action item: description, notes, owner, team, Workstream, due date, state, priority, rating, effort, tags or comments. Send only the fields to change.

Goal, 6 operations

  • create_goalsCreate goalsPOSTCreates one or more goals, with their metrics, for users of the organization (Data-Admin token). Each goal in goals needs goal_name.
  • get_goalGet goalGETReturns one goal with its metrics. include=custom_permission adds its custom permissions; custom_attributes=1 adds its custom fields.
  • get_user_goalGet user goalGETReturns a user with one of their goals.
  • list_goal_alignmentList goal alignmentGETLists the goals aligned with and dependent on a goal (Data-Admin token). The goal it is aligned to comes first; with no alignment the goal is returned alone.
  • list_goalsList goalsGETLists goals, filtered by goal owner, team, team owner or status (1 active, 2 closed, or 1,2 for both). Page with limit (default 15) and offset.
  • list_user_goalsList user goalsGETReturns a user with all their goals and each goal's details.

Metric, 6 operations

  • get_goal_metricGet goal metricGETReturns the data of one metric of a goal.
  • get_metricGet metricGETReturns one metric (key result) the token user can see (any metric of the organization with a Data-Admin token).
  • list_metricsList metricsGETLists metrics (key results): by default those the token owner owns. Filter by metric_id, goal_id or team_id; include_metric_data adds chart data and comments.
  • list_metrics_by_tagList metrics by tagGETLists the metrics that carry a given tag (tag_id). Page with limit and offset.
  • update_metric_confidenceUpdate metric confidencePUTSets a metric's confidence score (0 no rating, 1 low, 2 medium, 3 high) with a comment. Recorded as a separate confidence update. The metric must be active.
  • update_metric_progressUpdate metric progressPUTRecords a progress value on a metric. Without metric_data_id or a date range, the value goes on the most recent update date of the metric's update frequency.

Team, 5 operations

  • create_teamCreate teamPOSTCreates a functional team (with parent_team_id) or a working group, with its manager (team_owner), members and Workstreams. New member emails receive an invitation to WorkBoard.
  • delete_teamDelete teamPATCHDeletes a whole team with all its Workstreams and action items, and the child teams of a functional team. Cannot be undone.
  • get_teamGet teamGETReturns one team the token user belongs to (any team with a Data-Admin token).
  • list_teamsList teamsGETLists the teams the token user belongs to, or one team by team_id or external_id. A Data-Admin token with include=org_teams returns every team of the organization.
  • update_teamUpdate teamPUTRenames a team, adds or removes members, changes member roles, or adds Workstreams. A personal token must belong to the team manager. A new manager demotes the previous one to co-manager.

User, 5 operations

  • create_userCreate userPOSTCreates a WorkBoard user (Data-Admin token required). email, first_name and last_name are required.
  • deactivate_userDeactivate userPATCHDeactivates a user (Data-Admin token). Pass user_id and action=disable. Reactivate later with update_user status=active.
  • get_current_userGet current userGETReturns the profile of the token owner. With a Data-Admin token, user_id returns another user, and include=org_members lists every user of the organization (page with limit and offset).
  • get_userGet userGETReturns one user by id (Data-Admin token). Set custom_attributes=1 to include their custom attribute values.
  • update_userUpdate userPUTUpdates a user's name, email, phone, picture, time zone, external id, manager or read-only flag, or reactivates them with status=active. Send only the fields to change.

Workstream, 5 operations

  • create_workstreamsCreate workstreamsPOSTCreates Workstreams for a team you manage or co-manage. ws_data is an array of objects with ws_name, ws_objective, team_id and ws_owner.
  • delete_workstreamDelete workstreamPATCHDeletes a Workstream and all its action items. Cannot be undone.
  • list_team_workstreamsList team workstreamsGETLists all Workstreams of a team.
  • list_workstreamsList workstreamsGETLists the team Workstreams of teams the token user belongs to, or one by ws_id. Personal Workstreams are not returned; a Data-Admin token does not see every Workstream.
  • update_workstreamUpdate workstreamPUTUpdates a Workstream of a team you manage or co-manage: name, dates, pace, health, priority, or who it is shared with. Send only the fields to change.

Strategy, 1 operation

  • list_goal_pillarsList goal pillarsGETLists the strategies and pillars a goal is linked to. Needs a Data-Admin token with access to WorkBoard Strategy.

Use WorkBoard from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex

Connect WorkBoard in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its WorkBoard operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

How to connect WorkBoard

  1. Create your workspace

Sign up free. Nothing to install.

  2. Connect WorkBoard once

Add your WorkBoard connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.

  3. Describe the job in chat

The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
