Wikimedia Analytics integration

Wikimedia Analytics (the Analytics Query Service) publishes traffic and editing statistics for Wikipedia and every other Wikimedia project, as time series and rankings: page views per project, per article and per country, most-viewed articles, unique devices, edits, edited and new pages, bytes changed, editors and new registered users, most active editors and most edited pages, media file requests and video plays on upload.wikimedia.org, and Commons Impact Metrics for tracked Commons categories and media files. Page view data starts in July 2015 (legacy pagecounts cover 2008 to 2016). A 404 answer means the API holds no data for that query (a zero, or data not loaded yet). No credential is needed; requests are rate limited per client, and the data is CC0.

Say what should happen.
The workflow builds itself.

When this happens, do that in Wikimedia Analytics.Built from the 47 Wikimedia Analytics tools below, on the connection you add once.

What you can do with Wikimedia Analytics

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Aggregate, 9 operations

  • get_edited_pages_countGet edited pages countGETReturns a time series of numbers of edited pages on a Wikimedia project.
  • get_editors_countGet editors countGETReturns a time series of numbers of editors on a Wikimedia project.
  • get_edits_countGet edits countGETReturns a time series of numbers of edits to a Wikimedia project.
  • get_legacy_pagecountsGet legacy pagecountsGETReturns a time series of numbers of page views for a Wikimedia project, including page views from both users and bots. This endpoint provides data from January 2008 to July 2016.

Use Wikimedia Analytics from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex

Connect Wikimedia Analytics in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its Wikimedia Analytics operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

How to connect Wikimedia Analytics

  1. Create your workspace

Sign up free. Nothing to install.

  2. Connect Wikimedia Analytics once

Wikimedia Analytics needs no credential, so its tools work immediately.

  3. Describe the job in chat

The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
