Integration

Weatherbit integration

Weatherbit is a global weather data API. Get current conditions and severe weather alerts, daily (16 day), hourly (up to 240 hour) and minute-by-minute (60 minute) forecasts, historical daily, hourly and 15-minute observations, 30-year climate normals, lightning strikes, air quality (current, forecast and history), agriculture weather (soil moisture, evapotranspiration) and energy degree days, plus a city and postal code geocoder and your subscription usage. Locations are given as latitude and longitude, city, postal code or station id. Historical, air quality, agriculture and energy products need a paid plan (Plus, Business or Enterprise), and some calls consume several requests of your daily quota. The weather map tiles and custom report downloads are not exposed. Authentication is an API key sent as the key query parameter.

The workflow builds itself.

When this happens, do that in Weatherbit.Built from the 21 Weatherbit tools below, on the connection you add once.

What you can do with Weatherbit

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Airquality, 3 operations

  • get_air_quality_forecastGet air quality forecastGETReturns an hourly air quality forecast for the next 72 hours: AQI and concentrations of PM2.5, PM10, CO, SO2, NO2 and O3.
  • get_current_air_qualityGet current air qualityGETReturns current air quality at a location: AQI, concentrations of PM2.5, PM10, CO, SO2, NO2 and O3, and pollen and mold levels (USA and EU only). Locate by lat and lon, city, or postal_code with country.
  • get_historical_air_qualityGet historical air qualityGETReturns hourly historical air quality (AQI, PM2.5, PM10, CO, SO2, NO2, O3) for the past 72 hours, or between start_date and end_date (data from 2022-01-13). More than 5 days counts as several historical requests.

Agweather, 2 operations

  • get_agweather_forecastGet agweather forecastGETReturns an 8 day agriculture forecast: soil temperature and moisture at several depths, reference evapotranspiration, precipitation, radiation, wind and humidity.
  • get_historical_agweatherGet historical agweatherGETReturns historical agriculture weather between two dates (up to 10 years back): soil temperature and moisture, reference evapotranspiration, precipitation and radiation, daily or hourly.

Daily, 2 operations

  • get_daily_forecastGet daily forecastGETReturns a daily forecast for up to 16 days: high and low temperature, precipitation and its probability, snow, wind, UV, sunrise and sunset, weather description. Locate by lat and lon (recommended), city, postal_code with country, or station.
  • get_historical_daily_weatherGet historical daily weatherGETReturns observed daily weather (temperature range, precipitation, snow, wind, humidity, pressure, solar radiation) from stations within 15 km, 15 days per call. Locate by lat and lon (recommended), city, postal_code with country, or station.

Energy, 2 operations

  • get_energy_forecastGet energy forecastGETReturns an 8 day energy-sector forecast: heating and cooling degree days, solar radiation (GHI, DNI, DHI), wind at 10 m and 100 m, temperature and precipitation, daily or hourly.
  • get_historical_energyGet historical energyGETReturns historical heating and cooling degree days with solar radiation, wind, temperature and precipitation between two dates, aggregated hourly, daily or monthly.

Hourly, 2 operations

  • get_historical_hourly_weatherGet historical hourly weatherGETReturns observed hourly weather between start_date and end_date from stations within about 15 km. Up to a month per call; every 10 days counts as one request. Locate by lat and lon (recommended), city, postal_code with country, or station.
  • get_hourly_forecastGet hourly forecastGETReturns an hourly forecast, 48 hours by default and up to 240 hours where your plan allows: temperature, precipitation and probability, wind, clouds, solar radiation. Locate by lat and lon (recommended), city, postal_code with country, or station.

Lightning, 2 operations

  • get_current_lightningGet current lightningGETReturns the lightning strikes nearest to a point within the last minutes (up to 45 minutes back, up to 75 km away), sorted by distance or time. Each call consumes 10 requests of your quota; see get_historical_lightning for older strikes.
  • get_historical_lightningGet historical lightningGETReturns the lightning strikes recorded on one date around a point (up to 75 km away), with time, distance and bearing. Data starts 2024-08-15; each call consumes 10 historical requests even when no lightning occurred.

Alert, 1 operation

  • get_weather_alertsGet weather alertsGETReturns the severe weather alerts in effect at a location, issued by NOAA (USA), Meteoalarm (EU, UK, Israel), Environment Canada and the China Meteorological Administration. Alert text is often in the local language.

Current, 1 operation

  • get_current_weatherGet current weatherGETReturns the latest observed conditions at a point: temperature, wind, humidity, precipitation, clouds, UV, AQI and weather description. Locate by lat and lon (recommended), city, postal_code with country, or station.

Geocode, 1 operation

  • geocode_locationGeocode locationGETResolves a supported city, postal code, Weatherbit city_id or station id to latitude, longitude, time zone and place name, to normalise a location before calling the weather tools. Not an address-level geocoder.

Minutely, 1 operation

  • get_minutely_forecastGet minutely forecastGETReturns a 60 minute precipitation and snowfall nowcast at one-minute intervals, refreshed every 5 to 10 minutes. Locate by lat and lon (recommended), city, postal_code with country, or station.

Normal, 1 operation

  • get_climate_normalsGet climate normalsGETReturns 30 year climate normals (temperature, dew point, wind, precipitation, snow) between two days of the year (MM-DD), hourly, daily or monthly. Every 5 days requested counts as one request.

Revision version, 1 operation

  • get_historical_revision_versionGet historical revision versionGETReturns the revision version of finalized historical data. It increases when final history is corrected, so a change means history you downloaded earlier may need refreshing.

Subhourly, 1 operation

  • get_historical_subhourly_weatherGet historical subhourly weatherGETReturns observed weather at 15 minute intervals from stations, radar, satellite and reanalysis. Up to a month per call; every 5 days counts as one request. Locate by lat and lon (recommended), city, postal_code with country, or station.

Usage, 1 operation

  • get_subscription_usageGet subscription usageGETReturns your API key's request usage: calls made and remaining, historical calls made and remaining, and the reset timestamps. Daily limits reset at 00:00 UTC.

Use Weatherbit from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex

Connect Weatherbit in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its Weatherbit operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

How to connect Weatherbit

  1. Create your workspace

Sign up free. Nothing to install.

  2. Connect Weatherbit once

Add your Weatherbit connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.

  3. Describe the job in chat

The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
