Universal Summarizer by Kagi integration

Kagi's Universal Summarizer turns any document into a short summary: give it the URL of a web page, article, forum thread, PDF, Word or PowerPoint file, audio file, scanned image or YouTube video, or pass the text itself, and get back paragraphs of prose or a bulleted list of key takeaways, optionally translated into one of about thirty languages. Four engines are available, from the fast default to Kagi's enterprise-grade Muriel model for long documents. This integration covers the summarizer only; Kagi's FastGPT answer engine, its enrichment indexes and the v1 Search API are not part of it. Authentication is an API token created in the Kagi API portal (Settings, Advanced, API portal), sent as Authorization: Bot <token>; usage is paid from prepaid API credit.

What you can do with Universal Summarizer by Kagi

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

  • summarize_documentSummarize documentGETSummarizes a document given by URL (web page, PDF, Word, PowerPoint, audio, image or YouTube video) or a text passed directly, and returns the summary in data.output. Pass exactly one of url or text.
