Integration

Trainual integration

Trainual is a training and process documentation platform. Manage users (invite, update, archive), groups and their members, responsibilities and who owns them, and content assignments; read completions and activity; read subjects, documents, pages, courses, tests (questions, attempts, answers), flowcharts, videos, files and checklists, and search content; manage webhook subscriptions and their delivery attempts. Creating or editing content is not available in this API. MCP token routes, webhook secret rotation and the signature-validation debug helper are not exposed. Authentication is a user API token (generated in Trainual under My settings, Integrations & AI by an Admin+ user) sent as a Bearer token; it inherits that user's permissions and per-resource scopes.

Ask it in chat

Say what should happen.
The workflow builds itself.

When this happens, do that in Trainual.Built from the 47 Trainual tools below, on the connection you add once.

What you can do with Trainual

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Responsibility, 7 operations

  • assign_responsibilityAssign responsibilityPOSTAssigns an existing responsibility to the given user.
  • create_responsibilityCreate responsibilityPOSTCreates a responsibility and assigns it to one user (user_id from list_users). Optionally attach one link with url.
  • delete_responsibilityDelete responsibilityDELETEDeletes the responsibility and removes it from every user and group it was assigned to.
  • get_responsibilityGet responsibilityGETReturns a single responsibility by id.
  • list_responsibilitiesList responsibilitiesGETReturns responsibilities in the account, ordered by name ascending. Paginated.
  • list_user_responsibilitiesList user responsibilitiesGETReturns responsibilities assigned to the given user, directly or through one of their groups, ordered by name ascending. Paginated.
  • unassign_responsibilityUnassign responsibilityDELETERemoves the responsibility from the given user. The responsibility itself is not deleted.

Webhook, 5 operations

  • create_webhookCreate webhookPOSTCreates a webhook subscription (name and HTTPS url). A webhook in pending_verification becomes active after a successful test_webhook delivery. The signing secret is not returned by this tool.
  • delete_webhookDelete webhookDELETEDeletes the webhook. Trainual immediately stops delivering events to its endpoint.
  • get_webhookGet webhookGETReturns a single webhook by id.
  • list_webhooksList webhooksGETReturns webhooks in the account.
  • update_webhookUpdate webhookPATCHUpdates a webhook. Trainual requires name and url on every update: read them with get_webhook and send them back. Changing url, or any change while inactive, moves it back to pending_verification.

Assignment, 4 operations

  • create_assignmentCreate assignmentPOSTAssigns one piece of content to one user (user_id from list_users, content_type plus content_id). Content inside a subject is refused with 422: assign its subject instead.
  • delete_assignmentDelete assignmentDELETEDeletes the assignment, unassigning the content from the user.
  • get_assignmentGet assignmentGETReturns a single assignment by id.
  • list_assignmentsList assignmentsGETReturns assignments in the account. Ordered by `created_at` descending by default; paginated.

Group, 4 operations

  • create_groupCreate groupPOSTCreates a group (name required). Optionally set its members (user_ids), managers (manager_ids) and assigned subjects (subject_ids) at once; each needs the matching manage permission.
  • get_groupGet groupGETReturns a single group by id.
  • list_groupsList groupsGETReturns groups in the account, ordered by lowercased name, including the read-only Everyone group (everyone: true) unless everyone=false is passed. Paginated.
  • update_groupUpdate groupPATCHUpdates a group. name is required by Trainual on every update: read it with get_group and send it back. user_ids REPLACES the whole membership: send the complete list. The Everyone group is read-only (422).

User, 4 operations

  • create_userCreate userPOSTCreates a user. send_invite decides whether Trainual invites the user now, later (no invitation) or at scheduled_invite_at. Groups are set with create_group or update_group (user_ids), not here.
  • get_userGet userGETReturns a single non-archived user.
  • list_usersList usersGETReturns non-archived users in the authenticated account. Paginated. Sorted by `id` ascending by default; override with the `sort` parameter.
  • update_userUpdate userPATCHUpdates a user's attributes; send only the fields to change. archived=true archives (deactivates) the user, archived=false restores one. name, email and permission cannot be cleared. Groups are set with update_group.

Completion, 3 operations

  • list_completionsList completionsGETReturns completion records in the account. Ordered by `created_at` descending by default; paginated.
  • list_subject_completionsList subject completionsGETReturns completion records for the given subject. Honors the same status filter, sort, and pagination as `list_completions`.
  • list_user_completionsList user completionsGETReturns completion records for the given user. Honors the same status filter, sort, and pagination as `list_completions`.

Activity, 2 operations

  • list_activitiesList activitiesGETReturns account-scoped activities visible to the authenticated token. Notification-only keys are excluded. Ordered by `created_at DESC` by default; paginated.
  • list_user_activitiesList user activitiesGETReturns activities where the given user is the owner, trackable, or recipient. Honors the same collection filters as `list_activities`.

Subject, 2 operations

  • get_subjectGet subjectGETReturns a single subject by id.
  • list_subjectsList subjectsGETReturns subjects visible to the authenticated token, ordered by id ascending.

Test, 2 operations

  • get_testGet testGETReturns a single test by id.
  • test_webhookTest webhookPOSTDelivers a synthetic webhook.test event to the webhook's url and returns the delivery attempt. A successful test activates a webhook that is pending_verification.

Answer, 1 operation

  • list_test_answersList test answersGETReturns the answers across all attempts of a test (newest first), optionally for one attempt_id. include=question, attempt or attempt.user side-loads related records. Needs content and completions read scopes.

Attempt, 1 operation

  • list_test_attemptsList test attemptsGETReturns the attempts (per-user submissions) of a test, newest first, optionally for one user_id; include=user side-loads the user. Needs content and completions read scopes.

Checklist, 1 operation

  • get_checklistGet checklistGETReturns a single checklist by id.

Content, 1 operation

  • list_contentList contentGETReturns published content of a single type. The `filter[type]` parameter selects the resource type returned in `data`; each request targets exactly one element type.

Content search, 1 operation

  • search_contentSearch contentGETFull-text search across published content the token may access; returns a relevance-ranked mix of subjects, documents, pages, tests, flowcharts, videos, files, checklists and courses. Narrow with filter[type].

Course, 1 operation

  • get_courseGet courseGETReturns a single course by id. Courses have no list route: find their ids with list_subjects (include=content) or search_content (filter[type]=courses). Courses are distinct from documents.

Document, 1 operation

  • get_documentGet documentGETReturns a single document by id. To find document ids use list_content with filter[type]=documents, or list_subjects with include=content. Documents are distinct from courses.

Flowchart, 1 operation

  • get_flowchartGet flowchartGETReturns a single flowchart by id.

Page, 1 operation

  • get_pageGet pageGETReturns a single page by id.

Redeliver, 1 operation

  • redeliver_webhook_attemptRedeliver webhook attemptPOSTQueues a new delivery of the same event (same delivery_id) as the given attempt, from list_webhook_attempts. Returns 422 if a delivery for that id is already in progress.

Video, 1 operation

  • get_videoGet videoGETReturns a single video by id.

Webhook attempt, 1 operation

  • list_webhook_attemptsList webhook attemptsGETReturns delivery attempts of a webhook from the last 30 days, newest first, with 30-day delivery stats in meta.stats_30d. Pass an attempt id to redeliver_webhook_attempt to retry it.

Use Trainual from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex

Connect Trainual in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its Trainual operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

How to connect Trainual

  1. Create your workspace

Sign up free. Nothing to install.

  2. Connect Trainual once

Add your Trainual connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.

  3. Describe the job in chat

The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
