Integration

TemplateFox integration

TemplateFox (also sold as PDF Template API) generates PDFs and images from templates designed in its visual editor. List your templates and read the variables or named layers each one accepts, render a PDF from a template and your data (synchronously, or as a queued job for large documents), render a PNG, JPEG or WebP image by modifying layers, merge, split or rotate existing PDFs, have its authoring agent design or revise an image template from a written brief, manage template version snapshots, and read your credit balance and transactions. Every generated file comes back as a signed download URL; the raw-bytes export option and the S3 bucket integration settings (which store your AWS credentials) are not exposed. Authentication is an API key sent in the x-api-key header.

Ask it in chat

Say what should happen.
The workflow builds itself.

When this happens, do that in TemplateFox.Built from the 20 TemplateFox tools below, on the connection you add once.

What you can do with TemplateFox

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Version, 4 operations

  • create_template_versionCreate template versionPOSTSaves the current draft of a template as an immutable version snapshot under a tag (prod, staging, v1), which create_pdf and create_image can then pin with version.
  • delete_template_versionDelete template versionDELETEDelete a specific version snapshot.
  • list_template_versionsList template versionsGETLists the immutable version snapshots of a template (the working draft excluded). Pass a version's tag or number as version to create_pdf or create_image.
  • update_template_versionUpdate template versionPATCHChanges the tag or description of a template version snapshot. Leave a field out to keep its current value.

Job, 3 operations

  • get_agent_jobGet agent jobGETReturns an authoring-agent job's status and, once completed, template_id and preview_url. create_agent_template and revise_agent_template already wait for this.
  • get_pdf_jobGet pdf jobGETReturns an async PDF job's status (pending, processing, completed, failed) and, once completed, its result_url. create_pdf_async already waits for this.
  • list_pdf_jobsList pdf jobsGETLists the async PDF generation jobs of your team, with limit/offset paging and an optional status filter (pending, processing, completed, failed).

Create, 2 operations

  • create_imageCreate imagePOSTRenders a PNG, JPEG or WebP image from an image template and returns a signed url. Call list_template_layers first to learn the layer names modifications can target.
  • create_pdfCreate pdfPOSTRenders a PDF from a template and your data and returns a signed download url (1 credit). Call list_template_fields first to learn the variable names data must use.

Template, 2 operations

  • create_agent_templateCreate agent templatePOSTHas the TemplateFox agent author a new image template from a written brief (25 credits, refunded on failure) and returns template_id and a preview_url. Waits for the job and returns the finished result; gives up after 10 minutes.
  • list_templatesList templatesGETLists your templates with their 12-character id, name and kind (pdf or image). Pass kind to keep only one kind. Use the id with create_pdf, create_image or list_template_fields.

Account, 1 operation

  • get_accountGet accountGETReturns the account's remaining credit balance and email. Read-only, no credits consumed.

Create async, 1 operation

  • create_pdf_asyncCreate pdf asyncPOSTQueues a PDF render from a template and data (1 credit, refunded on failure) and returns the finished job with result_url. Use for large documents. Waits for the job and returns the finished result; gives up after 10 minutes.

Extract page, 1 operation

  • extract_pdf_pagesExtract pdf pagesPOSTReturn a single PDF containing only the selected pages of the input, in the order specified. Replaces the need for splitting + reassembling client-side.

Field, 1 operation

  • list_template_fieldsList template fieldsGETLists the dynamic {{ }} variables of a template (key, label, type, required) so you know which keys create_pdf's data object must contain. No credits consumed.

Layer, 1 operation

  • list_template_layersList template layersGETLists the named layers of an image template and which properties each accepts, so you know what create_image's modifications can target. No credits consumed.

Merge, 1 operation

  • merge_pdfMerge pdfPOSTConcatenates 2 or more PDFs (each given as an HTTPS url or base64) into one PDF, in the order given, and returns a signed download url. 1 credit per call.

Revise, 1 operation

  • revise_agent_templateRevise agent templatePOSTSend natural-language feedback on an existing image template; the agent revises the draft while keeping layer names stable. Waits for the job and returns the finished result; gives up after 10 minutes.

Rotate, 1 operation

  • rotate_pdfRotate pdfPOSTRotate every page by the same angle (`rotation`), or apply a per-page rotation map (`page_rotations`). Rotations are cumulative with the page's existing rotation.

Transaction, 1 operation

  • list_transactionsList transactionsGETLists the credit transactions of the account (purchases and per-render deductions), with limit (1 to 1000, default 300) and offset paging.

Use TemplateFox from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex

Connect TemplateFox in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its TemplateFox operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

How to connect TemplateFox

  1. Create your workspace

Sign up free. Nothing to install.

  2. Connect TemplateFox once

Add your TemplateFox connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.

  3. Describe the job in chat

The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
