Taxamo integration
Taxamo (by Vertex, behind Taxamo Assure and Vertex for e-Commerce) calculates VAT, GST and US sales tax for online sales of digital goods from the buyer's location evidence. Calculate tax for a basket without storing it, store transactions with their tax and evidence, confirm, unconfirm or cancel them, browse stored transactions, refund them fully or per line and cancel refunds, validate a buyer's VAT number, and list the supported countries, currencies and product types. This is the Taxamo v2 API; accounts on Vertex for e-Commerce version 3 use a separate Seller Transaction API with other tokens, and webhook event lookup, the CSV export and the cancel-by-subnumber refund route are not exposed. Authentication is the merchant's private token (test or production) from the Taxamo dashboard, sent in the Private-Token header.

What you can do with Taxamo
Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.
Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.
Key, 2 operations
cancel_transactionCancel transactionDELETECancels an unconfirmed transaction by its key.get_transactionGet transactionGETReturns a stored transaction by its key: lines, amounts, tax, evidence, invoice data and status.
Refund, 2 operations
create_refundCreate refundPOSTRefunds a transaction fully or partly. Without line_key or custom_id give total_amount (tax included), spread over the lines in order; for one line give amount (without tax) or total_amount. Returns the refunded amounts and credit note number.list_refundsList refundsGETLists the refunds of a transaction, each with its refund key, amounts, tax, reason and credit note number.
Transaction, 2 operations
create_transactionCreate transactionPOSTStores a transaction: calculates its tax as calculate_tax does and saves it with its evidence, unconfirmed (status N) unless created with status C. Returns the stored transaction, whose key the other tools take.list_transactionsList transactionsGETLists the stored transactions, in creation order unless sort_by is set, filtered by order dates, tax country, currency, status (N unconfirmed, C confirmed), key or custom id, invoice number, amounts or buyer tax number.
Calculate, 1 operation
calculate_taxCalculate taxPOSTCalculates the tax for a transaction (lines, currency and buyer location evidence) without storing it, for example to show a price with tax at checkout. Returns the transaction with tax amounts, rates and the tax country.
Confirm, 1 operation
confirm_transactionConfirm transactionPOSTConfirms a stored transaction by its key (status C) and returns it.
Country, 1 operation
list_countriesList countriesGETLists the countries Taxamo knows, with 2- and 3-letter codes, numeric code, name, currencies, calling codes, tax region and whether tax is supported; tax_supported=true keeps only supported ones.
Currency, 1 operation
list_currenciesList currenciesGETLists the currencies Taxamo supports, each with its ISO code, numeric code, description and number of minor units.
Full, 1 operation
get_full_transactionGet full transactionGETReturns a stored transaction by its key together with its payments and refunds.
Product type, 1 operation
list_product_typesList product typesGETLists the product type codes a transaction line accepts in product_type, for example e-service, e-book or software-download.
Refund key or refund note number, 1 operation
cancel_refundCancel refundDELETECancels a refund by its refund key or refund note number. Not allowed if Taxamo is the seller of the original transaction.
Unconfirm, 1 operation
unconfirm_transactionUnconfirm transactionPOSTReverts a confirmed transaction to unconfirmed, so it can be edited or cancelled like a newly created one. Not allowed when Taxamo is the seller.

Use Taxamo from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex
Connect Taxamo in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its Taxamo operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

}How to connect Taxamo
- Create your workspace
Sign up free. Nothing to install.
- Connect Taxamo once
Add your Taxamo connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.
- Describe the job in chat
The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
