Integration

Short.io integration

Short.io is a branded URL shortener. Create short links on your own domains, one at a time or up to 1000 per call, with a custom slug, title, tags, UTM parameters, expiry, click limit, password, mobile and A/B split destinations; look links up by id or slug, list a domain's links, update, archive, unarchive and delete them, tag them in bulk, set their Open Graph preview, add country and region redirect rules and per-user permissions, list and create folders, and list, create and configure domains. Click statistics live on another host and are a separate integration, Short.io Statistics, used with the same key. Not exposed: QR code generation, the public-key and GET-based link creation variants, lookups whose answer the vendor does not document, domain DNS, theme, favicon, transfer and signature-key administration, link bundles and posts. Authentication is a secret API key from Integrations and API in the Short.io dashboard, sent as is in the Authorization header.

The workflow builds itself.

When this happens, do that in Short.io.Built from the 29 Short.io tools below, on the connection you add once.

What you can do with Short.io

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Link, 5 operations

  • create_linkCreate linkPOSTCreates a short link to originalURL on one of your domains, with an optional custom slug (path), title, tags, UTM values, expiry and redirect options. If the destination already has a link and no path is given, the existing link is returned.
  • delete_linkDelete linkDELETEPermanently deletes one short link by its id string; the short URL stops redirecting. Answers success and the deleted id string. Rate limit 20 per second.
  • get_linkGet linkGETReturns one short link by its id string: destination, slug, short URL, title, tags, expiry, UTM and mobile settings, split destinations, folder, domain and creator.
  • list_linksList linksGETLists the short links of one domain with their destination, slug, short URL, tags, UTM settings and creator, sortable by creation date. Up to 150 per page; pass nextPageToken back as pageToken for the next page.
  • update_linkUpdate linkPOSTUpdates an existing short link by id string: change its destination, slug, title, tags, expiry, UTM values, password, redirect type or mobile and split destinations. Only the fields sent are changed; answers the updated link.

Bulk, 4 operations

  • add_link_country_rules_bulkAdd link country rules bulkPOSTAdds several country redirect rules to a link in one call, each sending visitors from one country to its own URL.
  • add_link_region_rules_bulkAdd link region rules bulkPOSTAdds several region redirect rules to a link in one call, each sending visitors from one region of a country to its own URL.
  • add_tag_to_linksAdd tag to linksPOSTAdds one tag to many links at once, given their id strings; existing tags are kept.
  • create_links_bulkCreate links bulkPOSTCreates up to 1000 short links on one domain in a single call. Each item takes the same fields as create_link (originalURL required). Answers one entry per link, in order: the created link, or an error object for a URL that failed.

Domain, 3 operations

  • create_domainCreate domainPOSTAdds a domain (hostname) to your Short.io account. Answers the new domain with its id and DNS state; its links work once the domain is configured.
  • get_domainGet domainGETReturns one domain by numeric id: hostname, DNS state, default link type, redirect, tracking, HTTPS and robots settings, and registration dates for domains bought through Short.io.
  • list_domainsList domainsGETLists the domains of your Short.io account with their id, hostname, DNS state, link type, cloaking, tracking and HTTPS settings. The id is the domainId other tools take; the hostname is the domain they take.

Permission, 3 operations

  • add_link_permissionAdd link permissionPOSTGrants one team user access to a link, by user id. Answers the permission record.
  • list_link_permissionsList link permissionsGETLists the permission records of one link: the team users (by user id) granted access to it.
  • remove_link_permissionRemove link permissionDELETERemoves one team user's access to a link, by user id.

Folder, 2 operations

  • delete_link_region_ruleDelete link region ruleDELETERemoves the redirect rule of one region of a country from a link.

Use Short.io from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex

Connect Short.io in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its Short.io operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

How to connect Short.io

  1. Create your workspace

Sign up free. Nothing to install.

  2. Connect Short.io once

Add your Short.io connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.

  3. Describe the job in chat

The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
