Integration

Retable integration

Retable is an online spreadsheet and database. An agent can list workspaces, projects and tables (Retables), read a table's columns, list, search, insert, update and delete rows, add columns, and create workspaces, projects and tables. The API is in public beta and rate limited to 12 calls per second; deleting columns (a destructive schema change), the v2 rows format and the multipart file upload route are not exposed. Authentication is the Retable API key (it starts with RTBL-v1), sent in the ApiKey header.

Ask it in chat

Say what should happen.
The workflow builds itself.

When this happens, do that in Retable.Built from the 15 Retable tools below, on the connection you add once.

What you can do with Retable

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Row, 5 operations

  • delete_rowsDelete rowsDELETEPermanently deletes the given rows from a table; returns deleted_row_count. Only the table owner can delete rows. An id that does not exist is not an error, it is just not counted.
  • insert_rowsInsert rowsPOSTInserts rows into a table (column ids from get_table) and returns the table's rows. Only the owner or an editor can insert; a plan whose row limit is reached answers 402.
  • list_rowsList rowsGETReturns all rows of a table, or only the rows named in row_id. Each row has row_id and one cell per column (column_id, title, cell_value), in the order of the table's default view.
  • search_rowsSearch rowsGETReturns the rows whose cell in column columnID matches term (spaces allowed). Each row has row_id and one cell per column, like list_rows.
  • update_rowsUpdate rowsPUTUpdates cells of existing rows, identified by row_id (column ids from get_table), and returns the ids of the updated rows. Only the owner or an editor can update.

Project, 3 operations

  • create_projectCreate projectPOSTCreates a project in a workspace together with a default table (Retable) and returns the project with that table and its columns.
  • get_projectGet projectGETReturns one project with its tables (Retables), each with its id and columns.
  • list_projectsList projectsGETReturns every project of a workspace, with its id (the project_id other tools take), name and description, plus a count.

Table, 3 operations

  • create_tableCreate tablePOSTCreates a new table (Retable) in a project, with a default Name text column, and returns it with its id and columns. Takes no body.
  • get_tableGet tableGETReturns one table (Retable) with its title and columns. Use it to find the column_id values that insert_rows, update_rows and search_rows take.
  • list_tablesList tablesGETReturns every table (Retable) of a project with its id (the retable_id other tools take), title and columns (column_id, title, type), plus a count.

Workspace, 3 operations

  • create_workspaceCreate workspacePOSTCreates a workspace together with a default project and returns both. Without a name, Retable assigns an auto-generated one.
  • get_workspaceGet workspaceGETReturns one workspace with its projects (id, name, description of each).
  • list_workspacesList workspacesGETReturns every workspace the API key's user can access, with its id (the workspace_id other tools take), name and description, plus a count.

Column, 1 operation

  • add_columnsAdd columnsPOSTAppends one or more columns to the end of a table, in the order given, and returns every column of the table. Column order cannot be changed through the API.

Use Retable from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex

Connect Retable in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its Retable operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

How to connect Retable

  1. Create your workspace

Sign up free. Nothing to install.

  2. Connect Retable once

Add your Retable connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.

  3. Describe the job in chat

The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
