Integration

Podio integration

Podio is a collaboration and work management platform built on workspaces and custom apps. List organizations with their spaces and read one organization or space, list and read apps and their fields, create, read, update, filter, count and delete app items and read their field values and revision history, create, update (including marking complete) and delete tasks, comment on items and status messages, post status messages, list space files and read file details, read the space activity stream and the saved views of an app, and manage webhooks on apps and spaces (create, verify, list, delete). Not exposed: app, space and organization administration, file uploads, contacts, conversations and search. Authentication is OAuth2 with a Podio API key (client ID and secret); access tokens last 8 hours and are renewed with the refresh token.

Ask it in chat

Say what should happen.
The workflow builds itself.

When this happens, do that in Podio.Built from the 37 Podio tools below, on the connection you add once.

What you can do with Podio

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Space, 6 operations

  • create_statusCreate statusPOSTPosts a status message (a short text shared with the members) on a space, optionally with a link.
  • get_spaceGet spaceGETReturns one space (workspace): name, URL, privacy, role and rights of the active user, and who created it.
  • get_space_streamGet space streamGETReturns the activity stream of a space: recent items, status messages, tasks and files with their comments and activity, 10 by default.
  • list_organization_spacesList organization spacesGETLists all the spaces (workspaces) of an organization.
  • list_space_appsList space appsGETLists the visible apps of a space, sorted by custom order or name, with their name, item name and status.
  • list_space_filesList space filesGETLists the files of a space with their size, type and the object they are attached to; filterable by type, attachment and date, 20 per page by default.

Task, 6 operations

  • create_taskCreate taskPOSTCreates a task with text, optional description, due date, responsible users, labels, privacy and an optional reference (ref_type and ref_id).
  • create_task_with_referenceCreate task with referencePOSTCreates a task attached to an object: an item, status, app, space or conversation. Same fields as create_task.
  • delete_taskDelete taskDELETEDeletes a task.
  • get_taskGet taskGETReturns a task: text, description, status, due date, responsible user, reference, labels, files and comments.
  • list_tasksList tasksGETLists tasks matching filters (responsible user, completed, due or created dates, org, space, reference, label), sorted and optionally grouped.
  • update_taskUpdate taskPUTUpdates a task: text, description, due date and time, responsible user, privacy, reference, labels, or completed. Fields left out stay unchanged.

App, 5 operations

  • create_itemCreate itemPOSTAdds an item to an app with values per field (keyed by field id or external id), an optional external id and tags. Answers the new item id and title.
  • get_appGet appGETReturns an app definition (latest revision): its configuration and its fields with ids, types, labels and settings. Use the field ids to build item values.
  • get_viewGet viewGETReturns the definition of a view (sort order, filters, field settings, grouping): a saved view id, a standard view, or last for the last view used.
  • list_appsList appsGETLists the apps of the active user, best scored first, optionally filtered by a search text. Returns 4 apps unless limit is set.
  • list_viewsList viewsGETLists the saved views of an app, with the number of items matching each view.

Item, 4 operations

  • delete_itemDelete itemDELETEDeletes an item and removes it from all views. The item can no longer be retrieved.
  • get_itemGet itemGETReturns an item with its app, field values, revisions, comments, files, tags and references.
  • get_item_by_app_item_idGet item by app item idGETReturns the full item by its app_item_id (the sequential id unique per app shown in Podio URLs), in the same shape as get_item.
  • update_itemUpdate itemPUTUpdates an item: only the fields sent change, and an empty list clears a field. With revision set, answers HTTP 409 if the item changed since that revision.

Hook, 3 operations

  • create_hookCreate hookPOSTCreates a webhook that calls a URL when an event happens on an app, an app field or a space. The hook stays inactive until verified.
  • delete_hookDelete hookDELETEDeletes a webhook.
  • list_hooksList hooksGETLists the webhooks on an app, an app field or a space, with their URL, event type and status.

Comment, 2 operations

  • add_commentAdd commentPOSTAdds a comment to an object such as an item or a status message. Answers the new comment.
  • list_commentsList commentsGETLists the comments on an object such as an item, oldest first.

Org, 2 operations

  • get_organizationGet organizationGETReturns one organization: name, URL, status, type, user limit, domains and the role of the user.
  • list_organizationsList organizationsGETLists the organizations the user is a member of, each with the spaces (workspaces) the user belongs to.

Count, 1 operation

  • get_item_countGet item countGETReturns the number of items of an app, or of those matching a saved view.

Field, 1 operation

  • get_app_fieldGet app fieldGETReturns one field of an app by its field id or external id: type, label, description, settings and whether it is required.

File, 1 operation

  • get_fileGet fileGETReturns the details of a file: name, type, size, download and thumbnail links, who uploaded it and when.

Filter, 1 operation

  • filter_itemsFilter itemsPOSTLists the items of an app matching filters, sorted and paged (30 by default), with their field values and the total and filtered counts.

Request, 1 operation

  • request_hook_verificationRequest hook verificationPOSTAsks Podio to call the hook URL with type hook.verify and a code; send that code to validate_hook_verification to activate the hook.

Revision, 1 operation

  • get_item_revisionsGet item revisionsGETLists the revisions made to an item (at most the last 30): number, who made it, through which client and when.

Status, 1 operation

  • get_user_statusGet user statusGETReturns the connected user: id, email, status, locale, time zone, profile, and unread notification and message counts.

Validate, 1 operation

  • validate_hook_verificationValidate hook verificationPOSTValidates a hook with the code Podio sent to its URL; on success the hook becomes active.

Value, 1 operation

  • get_item_valuesGet item valuesGETReturns the values of every field of an item: field id, type, label and values.

Use Podio from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex

Connect Podio in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its Podio operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

How to connect Podio

  1. Create your workspace

Sign up free. Nothing to install.

  2. Connect Podio once

Add your Podio connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.

  3. Describe the job in chat

The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
