Picsart GenAI API integration

Picsart GenAI APIs generate and edit media with AI models from several providers: images, stickers (also with a laser-engraving look) and logos from a prompt; prompt-based image edits, inpainting and outpainting with a mask, object removal, AI-generated backgrounds, image expansion and print bleed; short videos from a prompt or an image; speech from text; sound effects or music from a prompt; and text from a chat completion. Generation tools wait for the job and return result URLs hosted by Picsart. Every generation uses Picsart credits (a new account gets 5; more come with a paid plan), and get_credit_balance shows what is left. The deprecated *_id inputs (removed by Picsart on 1 June 2026) and the deprecated mode switch are not offered. Authentication is an API key from the Picsart API console (console.picsart.io), sent in the X-Picsart-API-Key header.

Ask it in chat

Say what should happen.
The workflow builds itself.

When this happens, do that in Picsart GenAI API.Built from the 23 Picsart GenAI API tools below, on the connection you add once.

What you can do with Picsart GenAI API

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Each badge shows the default agent permission of an endpoint (allowed: an agent calls it without asking; ask first: you are asked before an agent calls it, when the agent or chat asks permission for sensitive actions; never: no agent may call it), which every user can change endpoint by endpoint in their credential settings.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Image, 5 operations

  • edit_image_with_promptEdit image with promptPOSTAgents: ask firstEdits an image (send image or image_url) as a text prompt instructs, with any model Picsart offers. Returns data, a list of result URLs, or an inference_id for get_painting_result. Uses Picsart credits.
  • expand_imageExpand imagePOSTAgents: ask firstEnlarges an image (send image or image_url) to a bigger width and height by generating new pixels in a chosen direction, guided by a prompt. Returns data (URLs) or an inference_id for get_painting_result. Uses Picsart credits.
  • generate_imageGenerate imagePOSTAgents: ask firstGenerates images from a text prompt (up to 1024x1024); returns data, a list of result URLs. Picsart makes 2 unless count is set. Uses Picsart credits. Waits for the job and returns the finished result; gives up after 5 minutes.
  • inpaint_imageInpaint imagePOSTAgents: ask firstFills or replaces an area inside an image (send image or image_url) as a prompt describes: the transparent area of an RGBA image, or the area a mask marks. Returns data (URLs) or an inference_id for get_painting_result. Uses Picsart credits.
  • outpaint_imageOutpaint imagePOSTAgents: ask firstPaints outside an area of an image (send image or image_url) as a prompt describes: around the inner area of an RGBA image, or beyond a mask. Returns data (URLs) or an inference_id for get_painting_result. Uses Picsart credits.

  • generate_laser_engraving_stickerGenerate laser engraving stickerPOSTAgents: ask firstGenerates laser-engraving style stickers from a prompt; returns data, a list of result URLs (SVG available). Makes 2 unless count is set. Uses Picsart credits. Waits for the job and returns the finished result; gives up after 5 minutes.
  • generate_stickerGenerate stickerPOSTAgents: ask firstGenerates stickers from a text prompt (up to 1024x1024); returns data, a list of result URLs. Picsart makes 2 unless count is set. Uses Picsart credits. Waits for the job and returns the finished result; gives up after 5 minutes.

Video, 2 operations

  • generate_videoGenerate videoPOSTAgents: ask firstGenerates one short video from a text prompt; returns data.url. Length, resolution and sound follow the model's closest supported values. Uses Picsart credits. Waits for the job and returns the finished result; gives up after 10 minutes.
  • generate_video_from_imageGenerate video from imagePOSTAgents: ask firstAnimates an image (send image or image_url) into one short video guided by a prompt; returns data.url of the video. Uses Picsart credits. Waits for the job and returns the finished result; gives up after 10 minutes.

Audio generation, 1 operation

  • get_audio_generation_resultGet audio generation resultGETAgents: ask firstReturns a speech or sound generation job by its inference_id: data.url of the audio once status is success, else a status to check again later.

Background, 1 operation

  • replace_backgroundReplace backgroundPOSTAgents: ask firstReplaces the background of a photo (send image or image_url) with a new one AI generates from a prompt. Returns data (URLs) or an inference_id for get_painting_result. Uses Picsart credits.

Bleed, 1 operation

  • generate_bleedGenerate bleedPOSTAgents: ask firstAdds a print bleed around an image (send image or image_url): generated pixels that continue the image on every side, so printing can trim without cutting the picture. Returns data.url. Uses Picsart credits.

Chat completion, 1 operation

  • create_chat_completionCreate chat completionPOSTAgents: ask firstWrites text with an AI language model from a list of chat messages (role system, user or assistant, and content); returns the reply in data. Uses Picsart credits.

Credit balance, 1 operation

  • get_credit_balanceGet credit balanceGETAgents: ask firstReturns how many Picsart credits are left on the account (credits). Every generation spends credits; a call with none left fails with HTTP 402.
