Orca Scan integration

Orca Scan is a barcode scanning app whose sheets hold the data captured by phones and enterprise scanners. Read, add, update and delete rows (scans), count rows and read sheet or row change history; create, rename, clear and delete sheets; manage fields (columns), sheet settings, user access, webhooks and if-this-then-that triggers. Authentication is an Orca Scan API key (orca_...) sent as a Bearer token; the REST API needs a Business subscription.

Ask it in chat

Say what should happen.
The workflow builds itself.

When this happens, do that in Orca Scan.Built from the 39 Orca Scan tools below, on the connection you add once.

What you can do with Orca Scan

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Row, 8 operations

  • add_rowAdd rowPOSTAdds one row to a sheet and returns it with its _id. A missing barcode is generated. Use upsert_rows to add or update several rows at once.
  • bulk_delete_rowsBulk delete rowsDELETEPermanently deletes several rows, given their row ids (_id from list_rows).
  • bulk_update_rowsBulk update rowsPUTUpdates several rows matched by barcode; a row that does not exist is added. Without partial=true each matched row is replaced by the sent data.
  • delete_rowDelete rowDELETEPermanently deletes one row from a sheet.
  • get_rowGet rowGETReturns one row of a sheet: _id, barcode and one key per field.
  • list_rowsList rowsGETReturns every row of a sheet (one object per row: _id, barcode and one key per field). barcode filters to the rows with that barcode.
  • update_rowUpdate rowPUTUpdates one row. Without partial=true the row is REPLACED by what you send (fields left out are emptied); with partial=true only the sent fields change.
  • upsert_rowsUpsert rowsPOSTAdds several rows in one call; a row whose barcode already exists is updated instead (replaced, or only the sent fields with partial=true). Use add_row for one row.

Field, 5 operations

  • add_fieldAdd fieldPOSTAdds a field (column) to a sheet and returns it with its generated key. label and format are required; format decides the data type.
  • bulk_upsert_fieldsBulk upsert fieldsPUTCreates or updates several fields at once: a field that already exists is updated, any other is created. Returns the resulting fields.
  • delete_fieldDelete fieldDELETEDeletes a field (column) from a sheet, with its values in every row.
  • list_fieldsList fieldsGETLists the fields (columns) of a sheet with their key, label, type, format and options. Field keys are the keys of each row object.
  • update_fieldUpdate fieldPUTChanges the properties of one field (label, format, options, visibility, read-only flags). Only the properties you send change; leave the others out.

Hook, 5 operations

  • create_hookCreate hookPOSTRegisters a webhook: Orca Scan calls targetUrl each time eventName happens on the sheet. Returns the webhook with its _id.
  • delete_hookDelete hookDELETEDeletes a webhook from a sheet.
  • get_hookGet hookGETReturns one webhook of a sheet: its event and target URL.
  • list_hooksList hooksGETLists the webhooks registered on a sheet.
  • update_hookUpdate hookPUTChanges a webhook's event and target URL. Both are required by the vendor spec on this route.

Trigger, 5 operations

  • create_triggerCreate triggerPOSTCreates a trigger: when conditionField matches conditionType/conditionValue on a scan, add or update, actionType runs (notify me by email, move row, set value...).
  • delete_triggerDelete triggerDELETEDeletes a trigger from a sheet.
  • get_triggerGet triggerGETReturns one trigger of a sheet: its condition and action.
  • list_triggersList triggersGETLists the triggers (if-this-then-that rules run on scan, add or update) of a sheet.
  • update_triggerUpdate triggerPUTChanges a trigger. Only the properties you send change; leave the others out to keep them.

User, 4 operations

  • add_userAdd userPOSTGives a user (by email) access to a sheet with the permissions you set. Leave a permission out and Orca Scan applies its own default.
  • list_usersList usersGETLists the users who can access a sheet, with their permissions.
  • remove_userRemove userDELETERemoves a user's access to a sheet.
  • update_userUpdate userPUTChanges a sheet user's permissions. email is required by the vendor spec; leave a permission out to keep it.

Sheet, 3 operations

  • create_sheetCreate sheetPOSTCreates a sheet and returns its _id, name and row count. templateName bases it on an Orca Scan template (for example Inventory).
  • delete_sheetDelete sheetDELETEPermanently deletes a sheet and all its rows. Cannot be undone.
  • list_sheetsList sheetsGETLists the sheets the API key owner can access, with each sheet id (_id, the sheetId other tools take), name and the owner's permissions on it.

History, 2 operations

  • get_row_historyGet row historyGETReturns the change history of one row: its values at each change plus _change, _changedBy, _changedOn and _changedUsing.
  • get_sheet_historyGet sheet historyGETReturns the change history of a sheet: one entry per change with the row values and _change (add, update...), _changedBy, _changedOn and _changedUsing.

Settings, 2 operations

  • get_sheet_settingsGet sheet settingsGETReturns the sheet settings: public export and entry, whether inbound webhooks are allowed, the outbound webhook, lookup and validation URLs, date format and Item Link options. The webhook secret, the PINs and the inbound webhook URL are left out.
  • update_sheet_settingsUpdate sheet settingsPUTUpdates sheet settings: public export and entry, inbound webhooks, lookup, validation and outbound webhook URLs, the webhook secret and Item Link options. Leave a setting out to keep it.

Clear, 1 operation

  • clear_sheetClear sheetPUTDeletes every row in a sheet, keeping the sheet and its fields. Cannot be undone.

Count, 1 operation

  • count_rowsCount rowsGETReturns the number of rows in a sheet as data.count.

Hook event, 1 operation

  • list_hook_eventsList hook eventsGETLists the event names a webhook can subscribe to on a sheet, for example rows:add, rows:update, rows:delete, sheet:clear, or * for every event.

Ping, 1 operation

  • pingPingGETChecks that the API key is valid and the Orca Scan API is reachable; returns data.ok true.

Rename, 1 operation

  • rename_sheetRename sheetPUTRenames a sheet and/or changes its description. Leave a field out to keep its current value.

Use Orca Scan from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex

Connect Orca Scan in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its Orca Scan operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

How to connect Orca Scan

  1. Create your workspace

Sign up free. Nothing to install.

  2. Connect Orca Scan once

Add your Orca Scan connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.

  3. Describe the job in chat

The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
