NewsCatcher News API integration
NewsCatcher News API (v3) searches articles from more than 140,000 news sources: keyword search with boolean operators, latest headlines, breaking news events, articles by author or by link, per-day, per-hour or per-month article counts and the list of indexed sources, filtered by language, country, source, rank, date, theme, sentiment and named entities (IPTC and IAB tags on the IPTC Tags plan). Every search tool sends its parameters as a JSON body (the GET twins of each route are not exposed), the deprecated clustering_variable parameter is left out, and so is the custom_tags filter (its body key must name the customer's own taxonomy, which a fixed parameter cannot). Every call counts against the plan's monthly call quota; get_subscription reports the calls remaining and how many days of history the plan can search. Authentication is the API key of a News API plan, sent in the x-api-token header. CatchAll and the Local News API are separate subscriptions on their own hosts.

What you can do with NewsCatcher News API
Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.
Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.
Aggregation count, 1 operation
get_article_countsGet article countsPOSTCounts the articles matching a keyword search per day, hour or month (aggregation_by), with the filters of search_articles. Use it to chart how coverage of a topic evolves. Counts against the plan's monthly call quota.
Author, 1 operation
search_articles_by_authorSearch articles by authorPOSTReturns articles written by an author (exact name match), filtered by language, country, source, date range and NLP data. Counts against the plan's monthly call quota.

get_latest_headlinesGet latest headlinesPOSTReturns the latest headlines published within a time window (when: 7d by default, or 1h, 24h, 30d...), filtered by language, country, source and NLP data, optionally grouped into clusters. Counts against the plan's monthly call quota.
