Math Tools Numbers API integration

Math Tools Numbers API answers number questions over REST: spell a number out in words or as a currency amount in many locales (handy for cheques and invoices), give its English ordinal, convert it to Roman, Chinese, Egyptian or Babylonian numerals or between any bases from 2 to 64, factor it into primes, test whether it is prime, a palindrome, abundant or coprime with another, compute the GCF, LCM and Euler's totient, list the first N primes, read digits of pi, draw random integers, and get a trivia fact about a number or today's number of the day. Every tool is read-only. Not covered: the checks and lists the vendor documents without an example response (odd, even, composite, square, cube, triangle, perfect, deficient, squarefree, the named prime families, divisor counts and sums, composite and palindrome lists), the Mayan numeral, and the binary, octal and hex shorthands, which convert_base covers. Authentication is a Math Tools personal access token, issued when you subscribe to a Numbers API plan (there is no free tier), sent as a Bearer token in the Authorization header.

What you can do with Math Tools Numbers API

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Babylonian, 1 operation

  • to_babylonian_numeralTo babylonian numeralGETConverts a base-10 number to a Babylonian (sexagesimal) numeral, returned as comma-separated base-60 digits (3661 becomes 1,1,1), not as cuneiform glyphs.

Base, 1 operation

  • convert_baseConvert baseGETConverts a number written in base from (default 10) to base to; both bases range from 2 to 64.

Cardinal, 1 operation

  • spell_numberSpell numberGETSpells a number out in words (2342 becomes two thousand three hundred forty-two), in the language of the lang locale (en_US by default, also fr_FR, de_DE and others).

Chinese, 1 operation

  • to_chinese_numeralTo chinese numeralGETConverts a base-10 number to a Chinese numeral.

Coprime, 1 operation

  • check_coprimeCheck coprimeGETChecks whether two numbers a and b are coprime, meaning their only common positive divisor is 1 (8 and 15 are); answer is true or false.

Currency, 1 operation

  • spell_currency_amountSpell currency amountGETSpells a number out as a currency amount in words, in the language of the lang locale (en_US by default gives dollars), for cheques and invoices.

Egyptian, 1 operation

  • to_egyptian_numeralTo egyptian numeralGETConverts a base-10 number to an Egyptian numeral.

Fact, 1 operation

  • get_number_factGet number factGETReturns a trivia fact about a number when one is known, otherwise a fact derived from its number-theory properties (triangle, cube, square, several classes of prime).

Factor, 1 operation

  • get_prime_factorsGet prime factorsGETReturns the prime factorization of a number as a list of factor and exponent pairs (60 is 2 twice, 3 once, 5 once).

Gcf, 1 operation

  • get_greatest_common_factorGet greatest common factorGETReturns the greatest common factor (GCF, also called GCD) of two to ten integers, given comma-separated in numbers.

Is abundant, 1 operation

  • check_abundantCheck abundantGETChecks whether a number is abundant, meaning its proper divisors sum to more than the number itself (12 is); answer is true or false.

Is palindrome, 1 operation

  • check_palindromeCheck palindromeGETChecks whether a number reads the same forwards and backwards (456654 does); answer is true or false.

Is prime, 1 operation

  • check_primeCheck primeGETChecks whether a number is prime; answer is true or false.

Lcm, 1 operation

  • get_least_common_multipleGet least common multipleGETReturns the least common multiple (LCM) of two to ten integers, given comma-separated in numbers.

Nod, 1 operation

  • get_number_of_the_dayGet number of the dayGETReturns today's number of the day (the daily pick shown on math.tools) with its properties: its names, its value in other bases, other numeral systems and recreational facts.

Ordinal, 1 operation

  • get_ordinalGet ordinalGETReturns the English ordinal form of a number (1st, 2nd, 3rd), written with thousands separators (2342 becomes 2,342nd). English only.

Pi, 1 operation

  • get_pi_digitsGet pi digitsGETReturns a slice of the digits of pi: from is the start offset (default 0) and to is the LENGTH of the slice (default 100), not an end position.

Prime, 1 operation

  • list_primesList primesGETReturns the first N prime numbers; count sets N and is clamped to a server-side maximum rather than refused.

Random, 1 operation

  • generate_random_numbersGenerate random numbersGETReturns one or more random integers between min and max (both optional, min defaults to 1); total sets how many, up to 100.

Roman, 1 operation

  • to_roman_numeralTo roman numeralGETConverts a base-10 number to a Roman numeral.

Totient, 1 operation

  • get_totientGet totientGETComputes Euler's totient of n: how many integers from 1 to n are coprime with n (36 gives 12). Requires n of at least 1.

How to connect Math Tools Numbers API

  1. Create your workspace

Sign up free. Nothing to install.

  2. Connect Math Tools Numbers API once

Add your Math Tools Numbers API connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.

  3. Describe the job in chat

The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
