Knack integration

Knack is a no-code online database and app builder. List the records of any object (table) with filters, sorting and pagination, and read, create, update or delete one record. Records are keyed by the app's own field keys (field_1, field_17 ...), shown in the Builder's Schema section. Left out: view-based requests (they authenticate with the literal key knack and a user's token, not the app's API key), remote user logins and file or image uploads. Every call counts against the plan's daily API limit and the 10 requests per second rate limit. Authentication is the application ID and the API key from Settings, API & Code, API in the Builder, sent in the X-Knack-Application-Id and X-Knack-REST-API-KEY headers.

Ask it in chat

Say what should happen.
The workflow builds itself.

When this happens, do that in Knack.Built from the 5 Knack tools below, on the connection you add once.

What you can do with Knack

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

  • create_recordCreate recordPOSTCreates a record in an object from field values keyed by field key and returns the new record with its id. A connection field takes an array of record IDs.
  • delete_recordDelete recordDELETEDeletes one record of an object by its record ID and answers delete: true.
  • get_recordGet recordGETReturns one record of an object by its record ID.
  • list_recordsList recordsGETReturns one page of the records of an object (25 by default, up to 1000), optionally filtered and sorted, with the total number of records and pages that match.
  • update_recordUpdate recordPUTUpdates the given fields of one record (fields not sent keep their value) and returns the whole updated record.

Use Knack from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex

Connect Knack in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its Knack operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

How to connect Knack

  1. Create your workspace

Sign up free. Nothing to install.

  2. Connect Knack once

Add your Knack connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.

  3. Describe the job in chat

The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
