IP2WHOIS integration

IP2WHOIS, from IP2Location.io, reads the WHOIS record of a domain name: registrar, status, creation, update and expiry dates, age in days, WHOIS server, nameservers and the registrant, admin, tech and billing contacts. The vendor states it covers 1221 TLDs and 634 ccTLDs. The XML response format is not included; IP geolocation and the hosted domain (reverse IP) lookup are the separate IP2Location.io integration. Authentication is an IP2Location.io API key, sent as the key query parameter; it is the same key as the IP2Location.io integration (IP geolocation and hosted domains), so save the same key in both.

Say what should happen.
The workflow builds itself.

When this happens, do that in IP2WHOIS.Built from the 1 IP2WHOIS tool below, on the connection you add once.

What you can do with IP2WHOIS

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

  • get_domain_whoisGet domain whoisGETReads the WHOIS record of a domain name: registrar, status, creation, update and expiry dates, domain_age in days, WHOIS server, nameservers, and the registrant, admin, tech and billing contacts.

Use IP2WHOIS from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex

Connect IP2WHOIS in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its IP2WHOIS operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

Claude Code

How to connect IP2WHOIS

  1. Create your workspace

Sign up free. Nothing to install.

  2. Connect IP2WHOIS once

Add your IP2WHOIS connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.

  3. Describe the job in chat

The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
