GeoDB Cities integration

GeoDB Cities is a global database of cities, towns, administrative divisions and countries, refreshed from GeoNames and WikiData. Search places by name prefix (autocomplete), country, time zone, type, population or distance from a point or another place; read a country, region, division or place in detail; compute the distance between two places and get a place's current local time; list currencies, languages, locales and time zones. Places are addressed by their GeoDB id or their WikiData id (Q90 is Paris). Every tool is read-only, and the separate GraphQL flavour of the API is not covered. The API is sold through RapidAPI: authentication is your RapidAPI key, subscribed to GeoDB Cities, sent in the X-RapidAPI-Key header; the largest page your plan allows sets the useful limit.

The workflow builds itself.

When this happens, do that in GeoDB Cities.Built from the 39 GeoDB Cities tools below, on the connection you add once.

What you can do with GeoDB Cities

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Use GeoDB Cities from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex

Connect GeoDB Cities in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its GeoDB Cities operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

How to connect GeoDB Cities

  1. Create your workspace

Sign up free. Nothing to install.

  2. Connect GeoDB Cities once

Add your GeoDB Cities connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.

  3. Describe the job in chat

The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
