Fixer integration

Fixer, by APILayer, serves real-time and historical foreign exchange rates for 170+ world currencies. An agent can read the latest rates for a base currency, the rates of any past day, convert an amount between two currencies (optionally at a past date), and pull a daily time series or the fluctuation between two dates, plus list every supported currency code. Features depend on the plan: the Free plan serves latest, historical and symbols with EUR as base; another base and conversion need Basic, time series Professional, fluctuation Professional Plus. JSONP callbacks are not exposed. Authentication is the API access key from your Fixer dashboard, sent as the access_key query parameter.

What you can do with Fixer

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Exchange rate, 4 operations

get_historical_ratesGet historical ratesGETReturns the exchange rates of one past day (date as YYYY-MM-DD) against a base currency (EUR unless base is set; another base needs the Basic plan or higher), for every currency or only those in symbols.
get_latest_ratesGet latest ratesGETReturns the latest exchange rates against a base currency (EUR unless base is set; another base needs the Basic plan or higher), for every currency or only those in symbols. rates maps each code to its rate.
get_rates_fluctuationGet rates fluctuationGETNeeds the Professional Plus plan or higher. Returns how each currency moved between start_date and end_date (YYYY-MM-DD) against a base currency: per code in rates, its start and end rate, the change and the change in percent.
get_rates_timeseriesGet rates timeseriesGETNeeds the Professional plan or higher. Returns daily rates for every day from start_date to end_date (YYYY-MM-DD, at most 365 days) against a base currency. rates maps each date to a map of currency code to rate.

convert_currencyConvert currencyGETNeeds the Basic plan or higher (the Free plan has no Conversion Endpoint). Converts an amount between two three-letter currency codes at the latest rate, or a past day's rate when date is set. result is the converted amount.
list_currenciesList currenciesGETLists every currency Fixer supports as a map of three-letter currency code to currency name. Use these codes as base, symbols, from or to in the other Fixer tools.

Use Fixer from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex

Connect Fixer in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its Fixer operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.
