eNanoMapper integration

eNanoMapper is the open nanomaterial safety database of the EU eNanoMapper project, run by IDEAconsult on the AMBIT platform: physico-chemical characterisation, ecotoxicity, environmental fate, toxicity and exposure studies. Search substances by name, type, data provider, citation or study category, read a substance's composition and its studies with protocols, conditions and measured results, see which study endpoints exist, list study results as rows, look compounds up by name, CAS number, SMILES or InChI key, run substructure and similarity searches, and query the full-text Solr index. Left out: the XML, CSV and spreadsheet formats, the POST form of the Solr search, and the study-summary route, whose live answer differs from its documentation. No authentication: the API is public.

Say what should happen.
The workflow builds itself.

When this happens, do that in eNanoMapper.Built from the 11 eNanoMapper tools below, on the connection you add once.

What you can do with eNanoMapper

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Study, 2 operations

  • list_substance_studiesList substance studiesGETList the studies of one substance: protocol (category, endpoint, guideline), experimental parameters, reliability, interpretation and each measured effect with its value and unit. Filter by top category, study category, property or investigation.
  • summarize_study_endpointsSummarize study endpointsGETSummarise which study endpoints the database holds: one row per study category with its number of studies, optionally restricted to one top category or category.

Substance, 2 operations

  • get_substanceGet substanceGETGet one nanomaterial substance by UUID: names, type, data provider, reference structure and external identifiers.
  • list_substancesList substancesGETSearch the nanomaterial substances by name, type, data provider, citation or study category. Returns each substance's UUID, names, type, provider and identifiers, plus its study counts per category when studysummary is true.

Composition, 1 operation

  • get_substance_compositionGet substance compositionGETGet the composition of one substance: each component's chemical structure (formula, InChI, InChI key), identifiers, role in the substance (for example HAS_CORE) and proportion.

Compound, 1 operation

  • search_compoundsSearch compoundsGETLook up chemical compounds by an exact identifier: a name, CAS number, SMILES, InChI or InChI key. Returns each match with its formula and identifiers.

Investigation, 1 operation

  • list_study_resultsList study resultsGETList study results in tabular form (one row per result: substance, study category, endpoint, value, unit, guideline, reliability) for a substance, a study category, a data provider, a citation, an investigation or an assay.

Select, 1 operation

  • search_indexSearch indexGETFull-text and faceted search of the whole eNanoMapper index (substances, their compositions and study results) with Apache Solr query syntax: q is field:value, fq filters, fl picks the fields, start and rows page through the documents.

Similarity, 1 operation

  • search_similar_compoundsSearch similar compoundsGETSimilarity search: find the compounds structurally similar to the given SMILES, with their similarity score in compound.metric.

Smart, 1 operation

  • search_substructureSearch substructureGETSubstructure search: find the compounds whose structure contains the given SMILES or SMARTS fragment. Returns each match with its formula and identifiers.

Structure, 1 operation

  • get_substance_structuresGet substance structuresGETGet the chemical structures that make up one substance as a dataset: one entry per compound with its formula and identifiers.

Use eNanoMapper from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex

Connect eNanoMapper in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its eNanoMapper operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

How to connect eNanoMapper

  1. Create your workspace

Sign up free. Nothing to install.

  2. Connect eNanoMapper once

eNanoMapper needs no credential, so its tools work immediately.

  3. Describe the job in chat

The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
