Egnyte integration
Egnyte is a cloud content platform for business files. Browse folders and read file details, upload and download files, create folders, move, copy and delete items, search by keyword or custom metadata, comment on files, bookmark folders, create and manage shared links (which can email recipients), read and change folder permissions, restore or permanently purge trash, follow file and permission events, read users, groups, workflows, tasks and project folders. Left out: locking files, chunked uploads over 100 MB, metadata schema and value management, AI, user and group administration, audit reports, webhooks, Egnyte Sign, upload requests, eTMF, controlled documents, MSP and SCIM routes. Authentication is OAuth 2.0 on your Egnyte domain with an API key (client ID and secret) that a domain admin creates.
Say what should happen.
The workflow builds itself.
What you can do with Egnyte
Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.
Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.
Bookmark, 4 operations
create_bookmarkCreate bookmarkPOSTBookmarks a folder for the connected user, given its path or folder_id, and returns the bookmark.delete_bookmarkDelete bookmarkDELETEDeletes one of the connected user's bookmarks.get_bookmarkGet bookmarkGETReturns one bookmark: the folder's path and id and when it was bookmarked.list_bookmarksList bookmarksGETLists the connected user's bookmarked folders with their path, folder id and creation date.
Link, 4 operations
create_linkCreate linkPOSTCreates a shareable link to a file or folder, or an upload link to a folder, and returns its URL. With send_email true, Egnyte emails the link to the recipients.delete_linkDelete linkDELETEDeletes a shared link so its URL stops working. Only admins and the link's creator can delete it.get_linkGet linkGETReturns one shared link: URL, path, type, accessibility, protection, recipients, expiry and last access. Only admins and the link's creator can read it.list_linksList linksGETLists shared links with their details (URL, path, type, accessibility, recipients, expiry, last access). Non-admins see only links they created. Link URLs give access to the content.
Note, 4 operations
add_commentAdd commentPOSTAdds a comment to a file or folder and returns it with its id.delete_commentDelete commentDELETEDeletes a comment. Only its author or an administrator can delete it.get_commentGet commentGETReturns one comment: its text, author, creation time and the file it is on.list_commentsList commentsGETLists the comments on a file (file path), or, for an admin with no file given, every comment in the domain, optionally between two dates. Comments carry their author's username and name.
File, 3 operations
copy_itemCopy itemPOSTCopies a file or folder to another path in Egnyte and returns the copy's path and id. If the destination of a folder copy does not end with the folder's name, only its contents are copied.list_recent_filesList recent filesGETReturns up to 10 files the connected user accessed recently, optionally within a folder.move_itemMove itemPOSTMoves a file or folder to another path in Egnyte and returns its new path and id.
Trash, 3 operations
list_trashList trashGETLists items in the trash (files, folders and versions) with who deleted them, when, and when they will be purged. A date filter needs both startDate and endDate, and deletedBy needs that date range too.purge_from_trashPurge from trashPOSTPermanently deletes up to 10 items (files, folders or versions) from the trash, by the ids list_trash returns. This cannot be undone. Items that fail are listed in resources with their status code.restore_from_trashRestore from trashPOSTRestores up to 10 items from the trash to their original locations, by the ids list_trash returns. Items that fail are listed in resources with their status code.
User, 3 operations
get_effective_permissionsGet effective permissionsGETReturns a user's effective permission level on a folder, counting direct permissions, group memberships and inheritance.get_userGet userGETReturns one user by numeric id: username, email, name, type, role, status, authentication type, groups and activity dates.list_usersList usersGETLists the domain's users (id, username, email, name, type, role, status, groups, last activity), 100 per page by default, optionally filtered with a SCIM expression such as userName eq "jsmith".
F, 2 operations
delete_itemDelete itemDELETEDeletes a file or folder by path (it moves to the trash, where restore_from_trash can bring it back). With entry_id, deletes only that version of the file. Returns the parent folder path.get_itemGet itemGETReturns a file's or folder's details by path. For a folder with list_content true, it also lists its subfolders and files (up to 1000 per page); for a file, its size, checksum, ids and versions.
Fs content, 2 operations
download_fileDownload fileGETDownloads a file by path and returns it as a stored file. With entry_id, downloads that version instead of the current one.upload_fileUpload filePOSTUploads a file to the given path (up to 100 MB), replacing the file as a new version if it already exists, and returns its path, checksum, size and ids.
Group, 2 operations

Use Egnyte from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex
Connect Egnyte in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its Egnyte operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

}How to connect Egnyte
- Create your workspace
Sign up free. Nothing to install.
- Connect Egnyte once
Add your Egnyte connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.
- Describe the job in chat
The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
