Integration

EditionGuard integration

EditionGuard protects and delivers eBooks (EPUB, MOBI and PDF) with Adobe DRM, Readium LCP or Social DRM watermarking. An agent can upload a book with its reading, printing and copying rights, list, read, update and delete books, create download transactions (one protected download link per sale), generate links in bulk, email download links to a customer, manage reusable master links, and list transactions and completed downloads. The full-replace PUT routes are left out (the partial updates cover them), and so is the login route that trades an email and password for a token. Authentication is the account's REST API token, sent in the Authorization header with the Token prefix.

The workflow builds itself.

When this happens, do that in EditionGuard.Built from the 19 EditionGuard tools below, on the connection you add once.

What you can do with EditionGuard

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Book, 5 operations

  • delete_bookDelete bookDELETEPermanently removes an eBook from EditionGuard (by numeric id or resource_id). Irreversible.
  • get_bookGet bookGETGets one eBook by numeric id or resource_id: title, author, DRM type, status and last error, file size and type, and its reading, printing and copying rights.
  • list_booksList booksGETLists the account's eBooks with their DRM type, status (ready or error), file details and reading, printing and copying rights. Paged: count, next, results. Filter by search text, status, DRM type, resource_id or ISBN-13.
  • update_bookUpdate bookPATCHChanges the eBook's details or DRM rights; only the fields sent change. Rights changes are not retroactive: copies already downloaded keep their settings.
  • upload_bookUpload bookPOSTUploads a new eBook (EPUB, MOBI or PDF, from a file reference or a public URL) and protects it with the chosen DRM; rights can make it expire (rentals) or stay on one device. Returns the book with its resource_id.

Master link, 5 operations

  • create_master_linkCreate master linkPOSTCreates a master link for one eBook: a reusable URL that creates a new transaction and license file on every use. Optional limits: uses_remaining and expiration_date. Returns link_url.
  • delete_master_linkDelete master linkDELETEDeletes a master link, so its URL stops working for everyone. Irreversible.
  • get_master_linkGet master linkGETGets one master link by id: its link_url, the eBook resource_id, uses left, expiry date and external_id.
  • list_master_linksList master linksGETLists the account's master links (reusable download links, each use creating a new transaction): link_url, eBook resource_id, uses left and expiry.
  • update_master_linkUpdate master linkPATCHChanges a master link's limits (uses_remaining, expiration_date), instructions setting or external_id; only fields sent change. resource_id is required: send the current one from get_master_link.

Transaction, 5 operations

  • create_transactionCreate transactionPOSTCreates a sale (transaction) for one eBook and returns its download_link to give the customer. Social DRM books need watermark_name and watermark_email. To email a link instead, use email_book_link.
  • delete_transactionDelete transactionDELETEPermanently deletes a transaction (a sale and its download link) by id. Irreversible.
  • get_transactionGet transactionGETGets one transaction by id: its eBook resource_id, download_link, whether instructions are shown and whether the customer has fulfilled (downloaded) it.
  • list_transactionsList transactionsGETLists transactions (sales) for all eBooks or one resource_id, each with its download_link and whether it was fulfilled. Paged with page and page_size: count, next, results.
  • update_transactionUpdate transactionPATCHChanges a transaction's link settings (uses, expiry, instructions, watermark, LCP passphrase); only fields sent change. resource_id is required: send the current one from get_transaction.

Download link, 3 operations

  • email_book_linkEmail book linkPOSTSends a real email to the given address with a download link for one eBook (by resource_id). full_name is optional but shown in the email. Returns resource_id, full_name, email and email_template.
  • email_book_linksEmail book linksPOSTSends a real email to the given address with download links for several eBooks, several copies each (book_list). full_name is optional but shown in the email. The answer is passed through whole.
  • generate_book_linksGenerate book linksPOSTGenerates links_count new download links for one eBook; each link delivers the protected book. The vendor says only that the links come back in an array, so the answer is passed through as returned (an object answer under result).

Download, 1 operation

  • list_downloadsList downloadsGETLists completed downloads (books actually fetched through a download link, unlike transactions, which also count unused sales): title, resource_id, transaction_id and date. Paged: count, next, results.

Use EditionGuard from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex

Connect EditionGuard in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its EditionGuard operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

How to connect EditionGuard

  1. Create your workspace

Sign up free. Nothing to install.

  2. Connect EditionGuard once

Add your EditionGuard connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.

  3. Describe the job in chat

The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
