DriveBC Open511 integration

DriveBC Open511 is the Government of British Columbia's public feed of road events on provincial highways, in the Open511 format. List current or archived events (construction, incidents, road and weather conditions, special events) filtered by status, severity, event type and subtype, road name, district, bounding box, distance from a point, creation or update time, or the period they are in effect, and read each event's headline, description, schedule, affected roads and lanes, district and GeoJSON geometry. List the 11 highway districts usable as a filter, and read the jurisdiction's contact details and boundary polygon. Answers are JSON. No credential is needed; the data is published under the Open Government Licence British Columbia.

The workflow builds itself.

When this happens, do that in DriveBC Open511.Built from the 4 DriveBC Open511 tools below, on the connection you add once.

What you can do with DriveBC Open511

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Area, 1 operation

  • list_areasList areasGETLists the 11 highway districts of British Columbia that list_events accepts as its area_id filter, each with its id, name and GeoNames link.

Event, 1 operation

  • list_eventsList eventsGETLists road events on British Columbia highways (construction, incidents, road conditions, weather conditions, special events), 50 per call by default and at most 500.

Jurisdiction, 1 operation

  • get_jurisdictionGet jurisdictionGETReturns the jurisdiction publishing this Open511 feed (drivebc.ca, the Province of British Columbia): its name, description, contact email and phone, timezone, languages and licence link.

Jurisdiction geography, 1 operation

  • get_jurisdiction_geographyGet jurisdiction geographyGETReturns the boundary of British Columbia as covered by DriveBC, as GeoJSON polygons, for example to test whether a point falls inside the feed's coverage.
