Docsumo integration

Docsumo is an intelligent document processing platform that extracts structured data from invoices, bank statements, IDs and other documents. An agent can upload a document (file, public URL or Base64) under a document type, list and read documents, read the extracted data in a simplified JSON, correct a field value, start, end or skip the human review, get shareable review links, organize documents into folders, read bank statement analytics and run a Merchant Cash Advance (MCA) analysis, work with case agents (list agents, upload, read, update, run and delete cases), and read or edit the account's database tables. Document split file retrieval, adding a database table from a file and the short-lived shareable case link are not exposed. Authentication is an API key from the Docsumo settings (Webhook and API page), sent in the apikey header. The documented rate limit is 10 requests per second.

Ask it in chat

Say what should happen.
The workflow builds itself.

When this happens, do that in Docsumo.Built from the 31 Docsumo tools below, on the connection you add once.

What you can do with Docsumo

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Case, 6 operations

  • delete_casesDelete casesPOSTDeletes one or more cases of a case type by case_ids. Irreversible.
  • get_caseGet caseGETGets a case overview: metadata (name, stage, workflow state, assignee), document types with counts and case field values; add sections such as documents with include.
  • list_casesList casesGETLists the cases of a case type (default 20, up to 100, offset to page), newest first by default, filtered by stage, assignee, workflow state or date range (DD/MM/YYYY).
  • run_case_workflowRun case workflowGETRuns the workflow attached to the case type on one case. Fails with status 400 when no workflow is attached.
  • update_caseUpdate casePATCHUpdates a case: move it to a stage, set case field values, reassign it, approve or reject a pending review item, or rename it. Only the fields sent change.
  • upload_caseUpload casePOSTCreates a case under a case type (or adds to an existing case_id) and optionally uploads a file to it. Runs the case type's workflow unless trigger_workflow is false.

Agent, 2 operations

  • get_agentGet agentGETGets a case type (agent): required document types, case fields, stages (with their stage_id), workflow_id and the number of cases per stage.
  • list_agentsList agentsGETLists the agents (case types) of the account, with their casetype_id, type and case counts. Pass casetype_id to the case tools.

Delete, 2 operations

  • delete_documentDelete documentDELETEPermanently deletes a document by doc_id. Irreversible.
  • delete_tablesDelete tablesDELETEDeletes one or more database tables by their identifiers (dd_ids). Irreversible.

Upload, 2 operations

  • upload_documentUpload documentPOSTUploads a document file (jpg, jpeg, png, tif, tiff or pdf) under a document type and starts processing. Returns doc_id; read results with get_extracted_data.
  • upload_document_to_folderUpload document to folderPOSTUploads a document file (PDF or image) into a folder created with create_folder, under a document type. The response shape is not documented.

Account summary, 1 operation

  • run_mca_analysisRun mca analysisPOSTRuns a Merchant Cash Advance (MCA) analysis on processed bank statement documents (doc_ids). Returns an account summary per account.

Add, 1 operation

  • create_folderCreate folderPOSTCreates a folder for a document type. Returns folder_id, to pass to upload_document_to_folder or list_documents.

Addrow, 1 operation

  • add_table_rowAdd table rowPOSTAdds an empty row at the end of a database table; it gets the next sequential id and every column is an empty string. Set values with update_table_cell.

All, 1 operation

  • list_documentsList documentsGETLists documents (up to 20 per call, offset to page), filtered by view, folder_id, doc_type, status (reviewing, processed, erred), title search q or created_date. Returns doc_id, status, type and review_url.

Custom, 1 operation

  • upload_document_from_urlUpload document from urlPOSTUploads a document from a public URL or Base64 content (file_type url or base64) under a document type. Returns doc_id; read results with get_extracted_data.

Detail, 1 operation

  • get_documentGet documentGETGets one document's metadata: type, uploader, pages with their image URLs and preview image. Use get_extracted_data for the extracted values.

Field, 1 operation

  • update_field_valueUpdate field valuePATCHSets a new value for one extracted field of a document, to correct the extraction. Returns the updated field with its original_value.

Get, 1 operation

  • get_table_dataGet table dataGETGets all rows of a database table (used for validation and mapping in Docsumo). Each row has an id and one key per column.

Limit, 1 operation

  • get_accountGet accountGETGets the account (email, name, user_id), the monthly document usage and limit, and the document types available: their value is the type to pass when uploading.

Move, 1 operation

  • move_documentsMove documentsPOSTMoves one or more documents (doc_ids) from a source folder to a destination folder.

Record, 1 operation

  • delete_entity_recordsDelete entity recordsDELETEPermanently deletes up to 1000 records of an entity, by record_ids or by primary_key_values (send exactly one of the two). Irreversible.

Review, 1 operation

  • update_review_statusUpdate review statusPOSTChanges a document's review status: actions start (begin review), end (mark review complete) or skip (skip the review). Status 202 while still processing.

Review url, 1 operation

  • get_document_review_urlGet document review urlGETGets the review URL of a document; with signed_url=true it carries a temporary signed token so people without a Docsumo account can review it. Status 202 while still processing.

Review url folder, 1 operation

  • get_folder_review_urlGet folder review urlGETGets a shareable review link for a folder, so people without a Docsumo account can review its documents.

Simplified, 1 operation

  • get_extracted_dataGet extracted dataGETGets the data extracted from a document as simplified JSON: sections of fields (value, confidence, position, review_required) and tables as lists of rows. Status 202 while still processing.

Single, 1 operation

  • update_table_cellUpdate table cellPATCHUpdates one cell of a database table: the row id, the column header and the new value. Row ids are sequential per row unless a row was deleted.

Summary, 1 operation

  • get_documents_summaryGet documents summaryGETGets a summary of the account's documents grouped by document type, each with its count per processing status.

Type, 1 operation

  • list_enabled_document_typesList enabled document typesGETLists the document types enabled for the account: title, doc_type, category and the upload email address of each.

Usbs analytics, 1 operation

  • get_bank_statement_analyticsGet bank statement analyticsGETGets analytics of a processed bank statement: income, expenses, balances, NSF and overdraft counts, fixed costs, per-category and per-merchant spend. mode basic or all.

Use Docsumo from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex

Connect Docsumo in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its Docsumo operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

How to connect Docsumo

  1. Create your workspace

Sign up free. Nothing to install.

  2. Connect Docsumo once

Add your Docsumo connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.

  3. Describe the job in chat

The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
