Contiguity integration
Contiguity is a communications API. With it an agent can send SMS and MMS, iMessage (with SMS fallback), WhatsApp messages and emails, react to messages, show typing indicators and read receipts, cancel a queued send, read a message or a conversation's history, send and verify one-time passwords (including reverse OTP, where the user texts a code to you), place and control FaceTime Audio calls, look up a phone number's carrier, caller name and porting data, browse, lease, configure and release phone numbers (with call forwarding), register email sending domains, and apply for or revoke account entitlements. Sending and calling reach real people and count toward your Contiguity plan; leasing a number is billed monthly. Not exposed: the Identity verification routes (not yet publicly documented), the Base database and Orwell analytics hosts, and a FaceTime test-tone route. Webhook URLs are registered in the Contiguity Console (the webhook registration route is not documented yet). Authentication is a Contiguity API key (contiguity_sk_...) created in the Contiguity Console, sent as 'Authorization: Token <key>'.
Say what should happen.
The workflow builds itself.
What you can do with Contiguity
Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.
Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.
Facetime call, 5 operations
answer_facetime_callAnswer facetime callPOSTAnswers a ringing inbound FaceTime call, moving it to in_progress, optionally presenting a caller id. Returns the call.dial_facetime_callDial facetime callPOSTPlaces a real outbound FaceTime Audio call from your leased FaceTime Audio number to a phone number or FaceTime email; returns the call (status queued). Follow it with get_facetime_call.get_facetime_callGet facetime callGETReturns a FaceTime call: status (queued, ringing, in_progress, completed, failed), direction, parties, caller id, participants, FaceTime Web join link, times, duration and end cause.hang_up_facetime_callHang up facetime callPOSTHangs up a FaceTime call from your side (cause becomes dialer_hungup). Not needed when the other party already left. Returns the call.reject_facetime_callReject facetime callPOSTRejects a ringing inbound FaceTime call. Returns the call.
Domain, 4 operations
delete_domainDelete domainDELETEDeletes a registered email domain from the Contiguity account; email can no longer be sent from it. Permanent.get_domainGet domainGETReturns one registered email domain: verification status, whether sending is allowed, the DNS records to publish (returned whatever the status) and the DKIM, mail-from and domain verification states.list_domainsList domainsGETLists the email sending domains registered to the Contiguity account, each with its id, verification status, region, creation time and whether sending from it is allowed.register_domainRegister domainPOSTRegisters a domain for sending email from it and returns the DNS records you must add at your DNS host; sending stays disabled (sending_allowed false) until Contiguity verifies those records.
Entitlement, 4 operations
apply_for_entitlementApply for entitlementPOSTApplies for an account entitlement (unlocks a feature such as fast_track or number leasing); some are governed by extra legal terms and Contiguity may deny an application. Returns whether it was granted.get_entitlementGet entitlementGETReturns one entitlement of the account by name: description, status (granted, available or ineligible), and its granted id and date when granted.list_entitlementsList entitlementsGETLists every account entitlement (for example fast_track, lease, number_intelligence) with its description and status: granted, available or ineligible.revoke_entitlementRevoke entitlementDELETERevokes an entitlement from the Contiguity account, removing access to the feature it unlocks. Returns whether it was revoked.
Call forwarding, 3 operations
disable_call_forwardingDisable call forwardingPOSTStops forwarding calls on a leased number. The change may be queued; poll get_call_forwarding until status is active with to null.enable_call_forwardingEnable call forwardingPOSTForwards every incoming call on a leased number to another number. The change may be queued; poll get_call_forwarding until status is active.get_call_forwardingGet call forwardingGETReturns the call forwarding of a leased number: whether it is enabled, the number calls go to, and whether the change is active or still queued (with its estimated completion).
Otp, 3 operations
resend_otpResend otpPOSTSends the same OTP again to the user by SMS (a real message) and returns whether it was resent.send_otpSend otpPOSTSends a one-time password by SMS to a phone number ('Your <name> code is...') and returns the otp_id for verify_otp or resend_otp. A real SMS: the OTP API is free, the text counts toward your plan.verify_otpVerify otpPOSTChecks the code a user typed against an OTP sent with send_otp; returns verified true or false. Send the full code once, not each digit.
Reverse otp, 3 operations
cancel_reverse_otpCancel reverse otpPOSTCancels a pending reverse OTP session so a later text of its code no longer verifies; returns the new status.get_reverse_otp_statusGet reverse otp statusGETReturns a reverse OTP session's status (pending, verified, cancelled or expired) and the number that texted the code. Contiguity advises polling no faster than every 20 seconds, or using its webhook.start_reverse_otpStart reverse otpPOSTStarts a reverse OTP session: the user texts a 6-character code (factor) from their phone to a Contiguity number by SMS or iMessage. Returns the code, the number to text, a QR payload and expiry.
Message, 2 operations
cancel_queued_messageCancel queued messagePOSTCancels a queued SMS, iMessage or WhatsApp send by its message id. A message already in flight may still go out, and one whose delivery is confirmed answers 400. Repeat calls are safe.get_messageGet messageGETReturns one message Contiguity sent or received, by id (an incoming id starts with evt_; an outgoing id is the message_id a send tool returned): parties, content, time, status, attachments. Personal data.
Number lease, 2 operations
lease_numberLease numberPOSTLeases a phone number for your account; the lease is billed monthly, plus any upfront fee, as shown in its pricing from get_number or list_available_numbers. Returns the lease id, status and billing.terminate_leaseTerminate leaseDELETETerminates your lease on a number and surrenders it to Contiguity, effective immediately; you lose the number. Returns the terminated lease and its new status.
Available number, 1 operation
list_available_numbersList available numbersGETLists the phone numbers you may lease (only those you are eligible for): location, carrier, channels (SMS, iMessage, WhatsApp...), reputation, E911 support and pricing. No search filters exist.
Email, 1 operation
send_emailSend emailPOSTSends a real email (up to 10 recipients, optional cc, bcc, reply-to, headers) and returns its email_id; counts toward your plan. From a verified domain you may use your own address, otherwise only a sender name.
Facetime availability, 1 operation
check_facetime_availabilityCheck facetime availabilityGETChecks whether a phone number or email address can receive FaceTime calls.
Imessage, 1 operation
send_imessageSend imessagePOSTSends a real iMessage from your leased iMessage number to a phone number or email, optionally falling back to SMS/RCS, and returns its message_id. Needs a leased iMessage-capable number.
Imessage availability, 1 operation
check_imessage_availabilityCheck imessage availabilityGETChecks whether a phone number or email address can receive iMessage. Contiguity's docs say this needs a leased iMessage-capable number on the account.
