Cardly integration

Cardly prints personalised greeting cards and letters and posts them to real people for businesses. Browse the artwork, templates, fonts, doodles, writing styles and media sizes available to your organisation, preview a card with its credit cost and delivery window, place orders that print and mail cards (charged to your Cardly credit), read orders, check credit and gift credit balances and history, upload and manage your own artwork, and manage contact lists and their contacts (personal data: names and postal addresses). Left out: team users and invitations, webhooks (their objects carry the signing secret) and the echo test route. Authentication is an API key sent in the API-Key header: a test_ key validates every call without placing orders or changing data, a live_ key acts for real.

Say what should happen.
The workflow builds itself.

When this happens, do that in Cardly.Built from the 29 Cardly tools below, on the connection you add once.

What you can do with Cardly

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Contact, 6 operations

  • create_contactCreate contactPOSTAdds a contact (name and postal address) to a contact list. Rejected when a contact with the same externalId or email already exists in the list; use sync_contact to create or update instead.
  • delete_contactDelete contactDELETEDelete a contact, disabling any automations linked to it.
  • delete_contact_by_identifierDelete contact by identifierDELETEDeletes a contact from a list, found by externalId first, else by email: pass at least one. Automations linked to the contact are disabled.
  • get_contactGet contactGETRetrieve information on a specific contact from a given list, identified by Cardly's unique identifier for the record.
  • list_contactsList contactsGETLists the active contacts of a contact list: names, emails, postal addresses and custom field values (personal data).
  • update_contactUpdate contactPOSTReplaces a contact's details in a list, identified by its Cardly id. firstName and the full postal address are required on every edit.

Art, 5 operations

  • create_artCreate artPOSTUploads new card artwork for your organisation: a media size id (list_media), a name and one base64-encoded image per page. The returned id or slug is the artwork value for preview_order and place_order.
  • delete_artDelete artDELETEDelete a piece of artwork owned by your organisation.
  • get_artGet artGETRetrieve information on a specific piece of artwork.
  • list_artList artGETLists the artwork available to your organisation, shared and free artwork included unless ownOnly is set, with preview image URLs per page and its media size. An artwork id or slug is the artwork value for preview_order and place_order.
  • update_artUpdate artPOSTUpdate a piece of artwork with new descriptors or images. All parameters are optional, and only supplied parameters will be updated.

Contact list, 4 operations

  • create_contact_listCreate contact listPOSTAdd a new contact list, optionally with custom fields.
  • delete_contact_listDelete contact listDELETEDelete a contact list, disabling any automations linked to it.

  • list_contact_listsList contact listsGETLists your organisation's active contact lists with their custom fields, automations and contact counts.

Balance, 1 operation

  • get_account_balanceGet account balanceGETReturns your organisation's card credit balance and gift credit balance (with its currency). Placing orders consumes these credits.

Place, 1 operation

  • place_orderPlace orderPOSTPlaces an order: Cardly prints the cards and posts them to real recipients, charging your credit (gift credit for gift cards). One order per recipient is advised. Short of credit it answers 402. A test_ key only validates.

Preview, 1 operation

  • preview_orderPreview orderPOSTRenders a low-quality, watermarked PDF preview of one card and its envelope (URLs valid until expires), with the credit cost it would have and its estimated delivery window. Nothing is ordered or charged.

Sync, 1 operation

  • sync_contactSync contactPOSTCreates or updates a contact in a list, matched by externalId first, else by email (pass at least one). A previously removed contact that matches is reactivated.

Template, 1 operation

  • list_templatesList templatesGETLists your organisation's card templates. A template id fills a card's text and variables in preview_order and place_order.

Writing style, 1 operation

  • list_writing_stylesList writing stylesGETLists the writing styles: how messy Cardly's algorithmic handwriting looks, from perfectly neat to more humanised. A style id is the writing value of a card's style (standard by default).

Use Cardly from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex

Connect Cardly in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its Cardly operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

How to connect Cardly

  1. Create your workspace

Sign up free. Nothing to install.

  2. Connect Cardly once

Add your Cardly connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.

  3. Describe the job in chat

The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
