Integration

BugHerd integration

BugHerd is a visual feedback and bug tracking tool for websites. Read your organization, users, members and guests; create, update, list and delete projects and add members or guests to them; create, update, list and look up tasks (by global id or by the project's #number), move tasks to another project, manage kanban columns, read and add comments, list, attach (from a URL or by upload) and delete task attachments, and subscribe to task, comment and project events with webhooks. Deleting tasks, columns and comments is not exposed (the vendor's own overview says the API cannot delete them). Authentication is HTTP Basic with the BugHerd API key as the username and the letter x as the password.

Ask it in chat

Say what should happen.
The workflow builds itself.

When this happens, do that in BugHerd.Built from the 38 BugHerd tools below, on the connection you add once.

What you can do with BugHerd

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Task, 6 operations

  • create_taskCreate taskPOSTCreates a task in a project and returns it with its id and local_task_id. Leave status out to put it in the Feedback panel; requester and assignee can be given by id or email.
  • get_taskGet taskGETReturns a task by its globally unique id when you do not know its project. Use get_task_by_number for the #number shown in BugHerd.
  • get_task_by_numberGet task by numberGETReturns a task by its #number in the project (local_task_id, as shown in the BugHerd app and in task URLs) instead of its global id.
  • list_tasksList tasksGETLists the tasks of a project, filterable by status, priority, tag, assignee, external_id and creation or update date. Up to 100 per page: raise page until the list is empty; meta.count is the total.
  • move_tasksMove tasksPOSTMoves tasks from this project to another project. task_ids are #numbers (local_task_id), not global ids. Not enabled on every account: a 404 means ask BugHerd support.
  • update_taskUpdate taskPUTChanges a task: move it to another column (status), change priority, assignee, tags, description or external_id. Send only the fields to change; the others keep their current value.

Attachment, 5 operations

  • create_attachment_from_urlCreate attachment from urlPOSTAttaches a file to a task from a public URL: BugHerd downloads it and keeps a copy. Use upload_attachment for a file you hold. Returns the attachment.
  • delete_attachmentDelete attachmentDELETEPermanently removes an attachment from a task. Cannot be undone. Returns success true.
  • get_attachmentGet attachmentGETReturns one attachment of a task: id, file_name, url and created_at.
  • list_attachmentsList attachmentsGETLists the files attached to a task, each with id, file_name, url and created_at.
  • upload_attachmentUpload attachmentPOSTUploads a file (from an earlier step) to a task as an attachment. The request must finish within about 30 seconds: for a large file use create_attachment_from_url.

Project, 5 operations

  • create_projectCreate projectPOSTCreates a project for a website and returns it with its id. It starts with no members or guests: add them with add_project_member and add_project_guest.
  • delete_projectDelete projectDELETEPermanently deletes a project and all its tasks, comments and attachments. Cannot be undone. Returns success true.
  • get_projectGet projectGETReturns one project with its members, guests and kanban columns (column ids are what tasks and update_task's status refer to).
  • list_projectsList projectsGETLists every project, active and inactive, with id, name, devurl, members, guests and columns; list_active_projects returns active ones only. Up to 100 per page: raise page until the list is empty; meta.count is the total.
  • update_projectUpdate projectPUTChanges a project's settings; send only the fields to change, the others keep their current value. Returns the updated project.

Column, 4 operations

  • create_columnCreate columnPOSTAdds a custom kanban column at the end of a project's taskboard and returns it with its id.
  • get_columnGet columnGETReturns one kanban column of a project: id, name, position on the board, tasks_count and timestamps.
  • list_columnsList columnsGETLists the kanban columns of a project, built-in (backlog, todo, doing, done) and custom, with id, name and position. tasks_count can be wrong, even negative, per BugHerd.
  • update_columnUpdate columnPUTRenames a custom kanban column. Returns the updated column.

Webhook, 3 operations

  • create_webhookCreate webhookPOSTSubscribes a URL to one event (one webhook per event); BugHerd POSTs the task, comment or project to it. Deliveries are unsigned. A 410 reply removes the webhook.
  • delete_webhookDelete webhookDELETEDeletes a webhook: BugHerd stops sending events to its URL at once. Returns success true.
  • list_webhooksList webhooksGETLists the webhooks of your organization with their event, target_url, project scope and delivery statistics (success and error counts, last error code and dates).

Comment, 2 operations

  • create_commentCreate commentPOSTAdds a comment to a task, posted as the user given by user_id or email. is_private true hides it from guests (clients).
  • list_commentsList commentsGETLists the comments of a task, each with id, text, user_id, is_private and created_at.

Active project, 1 operation

  • list_active_projectsList active projectsGETLists only the active projects of your organization, same fields as list_projects. Up to 100 per page: raise page until the list is empty; meta.count is the total.

Archived task, 1 operation

  • list_archived_tasksList archived tasksGETLists the archived (closed) tasks of a project, which no longer appear on the taskboard. Up to 100 per page: raise page until the list is empty; meta.count is the total.

Feedback task, 1 operation

  • list_feedback_tasksList feedback tasksGETLists the tasks waiting in the Feedback panel of a project (new reports not yet sorted onto the taskboard). Up to 100 per page: raise page until the list is empty; meta.count is the total.

Guest, 1 operation

  • list_guestsList guestsGETLists the guests (shown as clients in the BugHerd app): external collaborators invited to specific projects, each with id, email, display_name and avatar_url. Up to 100 per page: raise page until the list is empty; meta.count is the total.

Member, 1 operation

  • list_membersList membersGETLists the team members of your organization (users who are not guests), each with id, email, display_name and avatar_url. Up to 100 per page: raise page until the list is empty; meta.count is the total.

Organization, 1 operation

  • get_organizationGet organizationGETReturns your BugHerd organization (organization.id and organization.name). No parameters.

Project guest, 1 operation

  • add_project_guestAdd project guestPOSTAdds a guest (client) to a project: pass user_id for an existing user, or email to send an invitation to a new one. Returns the project with its updated guests.

Project member, 1 operation

  • add_project_memberAdd project memberPOSTAdds an existing team member of your organization (user id from list_members) to a project. Returns the project with its updated members.

Project task, 1 operation

  • get_project_taskGet project taskGETReturns one task of a project with full details: status, priority, assignees, requester, tags, page and site, browser and OS info, screenshot and links.

Taskboard task, 1 operation

  • list_taskboard_tasksList taskboard tasksGETLists the active (not archived) tasks of a project, as they appear on the taskboard. Pages of at most 100: pass page=2, 3 and so on until the list comes back empty.

User, 1 operation

  • list_usersList usersGETLists every user of your organization, team members and guests (clients) together, each with id, email, display_name and avatar_url. Up to 100 per page: raise page until the list is empty; meta.count is the total.

User task, 1 operation

  • list_user_tasksList user tasksGETLists the tasks of one user across all projects, filterable by creation or update date, priority, tag and assignee. Up to 100 per page: raise page until the list is empty; meta.count is the total.

Use BugHerd from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex

Connect BugHerd in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its BugHerd operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

How to connect BugHerd

  1. Create your workspace

Sign up free. Nothing to install.

  2. Connect BugHerd once

Add your BugHerd connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.

  3. Describe the job in chat

The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
