Blink Chat integration
Blink Chat is the messaging API of Blink, the employee app, used through an App Identity (an app that takes part in chats). An agent can create private chats with users and the app itself, send, edit, delete and read messages (markdown text, existing attachments), get a durable link to a message, list the app's inbox, manage who has access (grants) and who has joined (members, admin or member role), and join or leave a chat. Users are referred to by their Blink user id (u-); this API cannot list users, the separate Blink integration (Feed API) does. Authentication is OAuth2 client credentials: the App Identity's Client ID and Client Secret from the Blink Admin portal (Manage Apps).

What you can do with Blink Chat
Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.
Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.
Chat member, 8 operations
get_my_chat_membershipGet my chat membershipGETGet the calling app's own membership row in a chat: why it has access, whether it has joined, and its role.join_chatJoin chatPOSTJoin the calling app to a chat it already has access to, so it is listed to the members and the chat reaches its inbox. It never grants access: use grant_chat_access to bring someone in.leave_chatLeave chatPOSTMake the calling app leave a chat while keeping its access, so it can still read the chat and rejoin with join_chat. The other members see that it left.list_chat_membersList chat membersGETList the users and apps who have joined a chat, ordered by display name, with their role (admin or member). Filter with type (user or app); paginated with size and cursor.remove_app_memberRemove app memberDELETERemove an app from a chat while keeping its access grant, so it may rejoin. Returns the removed member row.remove_user_memberRemove user memberDELETERemove a user from a chat while keeping their access grant, so they may rejoin. To keep them out, use revoke_user_chat_access. Returns the removed member row.update_app_member_roleUpdate app member rolePATCHSet whether an app that is a member of the chat is an admin or an ordinary member. Returns the member row.update_user_member_roleUpdate user member rolePATCHSet whether a user who is already a member of the chat is an admin or an ordinary member. Returns the member row.
Chat, 5 operations
create_chatCreate chatPOSTCreate a chat. List in members every participant, including this app (an app member with its aid- id) if it is to post. An untitled private chat with the same members returns the existing chat. Returns chat_id.delete_chatDelete chatDELETEDelete a chat with its members, grants and messages, permanently: it can no longer be looked up nor appears in any inbox.get_chatGet chatGETGet one chat in full: chat_id, organisation_id, access rule, a preview of its members, title, description and icon.list_chat_inboxList chat inboxGETList the calling app's own inbox: one entry per chat with a preview of its most recent message, most recent activity first. Paginated with size and cursor (page.next_cursor).update_chatUpdate chatPATCHChange a chat's title, description or icon and return the chat. Leave a field out to keep it; send description or icon as null to clear it (the title cannot be cleared).

delete_messageDelete messageDELETEDelete a message: it stays in place but its attachments are discarded and its body becomes a deleted marker. Returns the cleared message.get_messageGet messageGETGet one message in full: sender, created_at, edited_at, body, files and reactions. Use it after a chat.message-sent webhook, which carries only the chat and message ids.list_messagesList messagesGETList the messages of a chat, newest first: sender, created_at, edited_at, body, files and reactions. Page back through history with size and cursor (page.next_cursor).send_messageSend messagePOSTSend a message into a chat the app is a member of, as the app itself. Returns the message, with its id in message_id.local_message_id.update_messageUpdate messagePATCHEdit a message's text or attachments and return it with edited_at set. Leave a field out to keep it; files as an empty list removes all attachments.
Chat grant, 4 operations
grant_chat_accessGrant chat accessPOSTAdd a user or app to a chat: grants access and joins them in one step. Returns the grant. A grantee who already holds a grant gets that grant back and is not rejoined.list_chat_grantsList chat grantsGETList the explicit access grants on a chat (the users and apps that may be in it). To see who has actually joined, use list_chat_members. A user with no grant on the chat answers 404. To remove a member but let them rejoin, use remove_user_member.

Use Blink Chat from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex
Connect Blink Chat in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its Blink Chat operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

}How to connect Blink Chat
- Create your workspace
Sign up free. Nothing to install.
- Connect Blink Chat once
Add your Blink Chat connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.
- Describe the job in chat
The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
