BC Address Geocoder integration

The BC Address Geocoder is the Government of British Columbia's official geocoder for addresses in the province. Geocode, standardize and validate a civic or intersection address (whole or in parts, with type-ahead completion) and get its location, a match score with the faults found and the site id; find the site, intersection or listed occupant (schools, courts, health facilities, government offices and other businesses) nearest to a point, near a point or inside a bounding box; and read a site, its subsites (units), an occupant or an intersection by id. Results are GeoJSON, in WGS 84 by default or another supported spatial reference system. The parcel identifier lookup and the service status route are not included. Authentication is an API key from the BC API Services Portal, sent in the apikey header; it raises the rate limit to 3000 requests per minute.

Say what should happen.
The workflow builds itself.

When this happens, do that in BC Address Geocoder.Built from the 15 BC Address Geocoder tools below, on the connection you add once.

What you can do with BC Address Geocoder

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Occupant, 5 operations

  • geocode_occupantGeocode occupantGETFinds occupants of British Columbia sites (schools, courts, health facilities, government offices and other listed businesses) by name, by name and address written name ** address, or by tags such as schools;courts.
  • get_nearest_occupantGet nearest occupantGETReturns the single listed occupant (school, court, business or public service) nearest to a point, optionally filtered by tags, with its contact details, category and site address.
  • get_occupantGet occupantGETReturns one listed occupant by its occupant id, with its contact details, category and the address and location of its site.
  • list_occupants_nearList occupants nearGETLists listed occupants near a point, closest first, up to maxResults and optionally within maxDistance metres or filtered by tags, each with its contact details, category and site address.
  • list_occupants_withinList occupants withinGETLists listed occupants inside a bounding box, up to maxResults and optionally filtered by tags, each with its contact details, category and site address.

Site, 5 operations

  • get_nearest_siteGet nearest siteGETReturns the single site (civic address) nearest to a point in British Columbia, with its standardized address, location and site id. Useful as a reverse geocoder.
  • get_siteGet siteGETReturns one site by its site id, with its standardized address, location and status. Site ids are unique but can change over time.
  • list_sites_nearList sites nearGETLists sites near a point, closest first, up to maxResults (at most 500, and 500 when omitted) and optionally within maxDistance metres, each with its standardized address, location and site id.
  • list_sites_withinList sites withinGETLists sites inside a bounding box, up to maxResults (at most 500, and 500 when omitted), each with its standardized address, location and site id.
  • list_subsitesList subsitesGETLists the subsites of a site, such as the units of an apartment or office building, each with its full address and site id.

Intersection, 4 operations

  • get_intersectionGet intersectionGETReturns one road intersection by its intersection id, with its street names, location and degree.
  • get_nearest_intersectionGet nearest intersectionGETReturns the road intersection nearest to a point in British Columbia, with the names of the streets that meet, its location, its degree (number of road segments) and its intersection id.
  • list_intersections_nearList intersections nearGETLists road intersections near a point, closest first, up to maxResults and optionally within maxDistance metres, each with its street names, location, degree and intersection id.
  • list_intersections_withinList intersections withinGETLists road intersections inside a bounding box, up to maxResults, each with its street names, location, degree and intersection id.

Address, 1 operation

  • geocode_addressGeocode addressGETGeocodes, standardizes and validates a British Columbia civic or intersection address: give the whole address as addressString, or its parts (civicNumber, streetName, streetType, localityName and so on).

Use BC Address Geocoder from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex

Connect BC Address Geocoder in LiveContext, create an API key in Settings, then add the LiveContext MCP server to your client. Its BC Address Geocoder operations become tools the client can call, next to every other integration you connected.

How to connect BC Address Geocoder

  1. Create your workspace

Sign up free. Nothing to install.

  2. Connect BC Address Geocoder once

Add your BC Address Geocoder connection in Settings. Every tool from this integration reuses it, and secrets are encrypted at rest and visible only to you.

  3. Describe the job in chat

The workflow builds itself in front of you and picks the endpoints it needs. Drag the steps yourself on the canvas whenever you would rather be explicit.
