Alai integration

Alai turns text into designed presentation decks with AI. Classic & Creative Slides: generate a deck from text with a theme, add or delete slides, export to a share link, PDF or PowerPoint, extract slide transcripts, upload images. Modern Slides: create a deck on a published design system, upload brand assets, generate, revise with natural-language edits and export to PDF, PPTX or PNG. Generations, edits and transcripts spend the account's Alai credits (402 when they run out); 5 concurrent generations per user. The two key-check (ping) routes are not exposed. Authentication is an Alai API key (account menu, API, Add new API key) sent as a Bearer token.

What you can do with Alai

Each of these is one operation on one endpoint, available both as a workflow step and as a tool an AI agent can call on its own. Nothing bundles several operations into one action, so what a run did stays readable afterwards.

Most endpoints run on the free plan. A few, mainly the ones that publish on your behalf, need a paid plan.

Presentation, 6 operations

create_modern_presentationCreate modern presentationPOSTCreates an empty Modern Slides deck (no AI, no credits) and returns its id. Then call generate_modern_presentation. A presentation format needs a design_system_id from list_design_systems.
delete_modern_presentationDelete modern presentationDELETEPermanently deletes a Modern Slides deck and its files. Let running operations on it finish or fail first. Answers with no body.
delete_presentationDelete presentationDELETEPermanently deletes a Classic & Creative presentation. Returns success and the presentation_id.
get_modern_presentationGet modern presentationGETReads a Modern Slides deck: title, format, canvas size, design system, preview_url and repo_commit_sha (pass it as base_commit_sha to edit or export exactly this revision).

Generation, 2 operations

generate_presentationGenerate presentationPOSTGenerates a new deck from text, spending Alai credits: returns presentation_id and formats (a share link by default; PDF or PowerPoint URLs if asked). Waits for the job and returns the finished result; gives up after 10 minutes.
get_generationGet generationGETReads a Classic & Creative async job (generation, slide, export or transcript): status pending, in_progress, completed or failed, the error, presentation_id, slide_id, formats download URLs and transcripts.

Slide, 2 operations

add_slideAdd slidePOSTAdds one AI-designed slide to an existing deck, spending Alai credits: returns slide_id and formats. slide_type creative makes an image-led slide. Waits for the job and returns the finished result; gives up after 10 minutes.

Asset, 1 operation

upload_modern_assetUpload modern assetPOSTUploads one image to a Modern Slides deck with a usage label (brand_logo, reference_image, content_image, background) and returns the asset; pass its id in asset_ids to generate or edit.

Cancel, 1 operation

cancel_modern_operationCancel modern operationPOSTCancels a queued or running Modern Slides operation; no result is published. Calling it again returns the same cancelled operation; an operation that already succeeded or failed answers 409.

Use Alai from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex
