Equinix Metal is a bare metal cloud that provisions dedicated servers on demand in Equinix data centre metros and wires them into private networking and Fabric interconnections. This integration covers the Metal API v1 control plane: devices (provision one or a batch in a project, read, update, delete, run power actions such as reboot and reinstall, read bandwidth, traffic, usage, events, metadata, firmware sets and health rollups), projects and their memberships, invitations, usage, events and batches, SSH keys at both user and project level, elastic IP reservations with assignment to devices and available subnet lookups, VLANs and virtual networks, physical ports with bond, disbond, layer 2 and layer 3 conversion, VLAN assignment and native VLAN, Metal Gateways and their elastic IPs, VRFs with routes, learned routes and BGP neighbors, project and device BGP sessions, Fabric interconnections with ports and virtual circuits, hardware reservations with activate and move, spot market requests, organizations with projects, members and invoices, and the read-only catalogue of plans, operating systems and versions, metros, facility and metro capacity and spot market prices. User account administration, two-factor settings, email verification, password reset, payment methods, support requests, custom data blobs and device userdata are not included, and neither is the server console screenshot route. Authentication is a user or project API key created in the Equinix Metal console, sent in the X-Auth-Token header.
